I'm trying to figure out the device used in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qsh7W3PYytU I'm not sure if its a Funken Ring or something like Jim Pace's Ignitor and a bit of flash cotton... it seems like the flash is bigger than your normal Funken Ring effect, sounds like the unwinding of the Funken, but with a bigger flash.... any thoughts??

Most likely a striker that was loaded with cotton and sprinkled sparkle additive on it.

I have to disagree with stucky, flash cotton and sparkle additive would have had a burst of flame followed by the sparks. It could have been a flint flasher with the wheel coated in additive.

Where can you get an addictive for a flint flasher.. I agree that if its was flash cotton it would have more of a flame effect than spark like that.... was thinking it was a funken ring with sparkle additive at first but that cant be it... hmmm
