Have you guys seen the Larry Jenning's clip of him performing cup and ball?

His opening move is worth clicking the link below:

It seems someone has removed the Scarne video from their playlist.

I'll try to dig up another one and repost.

I think that the videos show something important that is missing from a lot of (not all, but a lot of) magic books and instructional videos. How to transition between the tricks.
What I got out of the David Roth video was how he got out of one spot that always made me nervous and actually used it to his advantage.

Exactly! Each video comes with a small article about the magician. A bit of history can go a long way. (Not everyone just wants tricks!)

I've worked pretty hard to supply some info, a video, and a link to either an official wiki page, an official magicpedia entry, or the artist's official website.

Like I said earlier, it's ALL about using the tools of today, to teach the youth of tomorrow, about why the guys of yesterday are worth knowing.

Spread the word... tell everyone.

Enjoy.

Cheers,
Asher

This is a great resource! As a beginner, you get swamped with recommendations on books and videos to learn tricks and technique. Just the starting list is years of reading and work.

The history of magic, how magic has evolved, the innovations and thinking of the great magicians of the past...these things are really interesting and help establish love and respect of the art. Unfortunately, these are not as easy to find nor as often recommended to beginners. Although I spend a lot of my time learning about effects, techniques and debating the latest version of a DL, reading *about* magic, bios of past masters, and viewing classic routines and performances is some of the most enjoyable time I have had in pursuit of this interest.

Thank you Mr. Asher for this wonderful initiative.

Okay, I'll let my ego take over for a moment - if Lee doesn't suggest any of my DVDs or books, he's not helping you as much as he could or should. I've been trying to help the "youth in magic" since long before he was born. Other than that, he'd doing good. Best - HARRY LORAYNE.

Gali Gali was a master of magic and an inspiration for future generations of magicians. Take the time to learn more about him by visiting his official MagicPedia entry (link found directly underneath the video).

Enjoy.
