Santa, fair enough. You did say all regions. I was in a rush to finish up my post and head on home. And as soon as Toyota makes a vehicle that can haul a few sheets of plywood without looking ridiculous, yet still get better gas mileage than my Corolla, I'll take you up on that offer. (Though it'll have to be a little while anyway- me and the wife are doing our part to stimulate the economy by putting in a third bedroom before our baby arrives.)
Carrie- the unemployment rate in CA is at 9.3% right now. If you cut the income tax by 75%, it still wouldn't do any good in the long term. The fact remains that the 9.3% unemployed not only do not pay taxes, they consume taxpayer money when they receive services necessary to keep them from starving. The way out is to give them jobs- create new jobs for them, so they no longer take services, and actually start paying taxes into the system. And now make up your mind- you're talking about a payroll tax as if it's two different taxes. The term may be used for both taxes withheld from employees, and taxes payed by employers, but are we going to cut both? If we only cut one, you won't have it both ways. Besides, government spending creates many jobs, not the one or two the payroll reduction might (might!) accomplish. And I will qualify might, because we can see from experience, once they figure how to make due with less, they will not hire more people unless absolutely necessary. By the way, apart from the fact that the Heritage Foundation has an extreme conservative bias, I spotted statistical fudging in their first two paragraphs. They're lumping all income groups together, which totally distorts the metrics. -Erik

You don't like the Tundra? I think it looks sharp.
Hey, I've changed my mind. I found out our little airport here has been upgraded so corporate jets can land here for execs visiting Reno so now I'm pro corporate jets. Erik, I happen to have seen Crocodile Dundee enough to know how to fit in with those Aussies. I just have to get use to that idiotice "Aussie! Aussie! oy oy oy!" crap, didn't know yiddish was so common there. |

Even I know enough about Australia to know you'll get your @#$* kicked six ways from Sunday if you act like Paul Hogan in Australia. I understand he's not actually that popular over there...
Wouldn't mind going there for a vacation, though. It'd be neat to see the Sydney Opera House in person.

I know other things, but I'm not sure I have the liberty to divulge that information. I do know that the purchase of said 7X was made over two years ago...long before the bail-out.
