I am looking for some help in the use of this wallet. What is the motivation for taking a card out of the deck, placed in the wallet and then to remove the selected card out of the zippered compartment. I have several types of wallets. I like to use this wallet, but am always questioning the motivation for selecting a card just to produce another.. thanks.

''If this is not your card you get to keep the money in my wallet''
Something like that. When they reach for the money, you say ''But on this side of the wallet there is another card...

Peter Scarlett wrote very good instructions. Think in this direction: Have in both window compartments a blank card (back outwards) and write on the faces "Your Card".
Have a card freely selected, signed and lost in the deck, but control it to the top. Announce that the selected card is in your wallet which could be on the table already from the very beginning. Open the right site of your wallet and withdraw the visible card. Turn it over to show your writing "Your Card"... minor gag, top change (or use Harry Lorayne's "illogical double lift")this card with the selected card. Put "your" card back in its place in your wallet, close it, let some time pass, reopen it (other site), your gag card seems to be still there (you can show it again... depending on your presentation), do and explain whatever you want, but now you can produce the signed and selected card out of the zipper compartment of your Pimpernel. I love that wallet and use it since (roughly) 1995. Jan

Paris:

I met Peter a couple of years ago at the Annual Abbott Magic Get-Together in Colon.

He showed me and demo'd his pimpernel Wallet his Pimpernel Wallet as well as the Camirand Dark Card Routine.

I honestly believe that this is a terriffic and commercial version of the card in wallet, presented as a "spectator challenge", but with a kicker.

I told Peter that I thought the props and the routine were fabulous, so I bought it.

After I got home and played with it for a couple of weeks, I really became enamored of this trick as a pure classic of close-up, and E-Mailoed Peter to tell him how much I really thought of this trick. Peter quoted me and put my review of The Pimpernel Wallet and Dark Card on his Website.

I think it's one of the two best card and wallet tricks I've ever used, with the other one being the Nemo 1500 Wallet Trick. ASnother killer but another story.

For those that don't know about this trick, I believe that it's available through the Camirand Aceademy of Magic Website.

Peter is great magician and an interesting guy and I'm glad I had a chance to meet him.

I highly reccomend the Pimpernel Wallet and Dark Card combination:

It IS a superb wallet. And if you perform Bob Cassidy's Chronologue, it is ideal!

This wallet has been praised highly here before by me and others. When I bought mine it was to do a routine I used to do with the Bendix Bombshell Wallet which now looks so out of place in close up. Some good routines are supplied with it.
Nuff said.

I have been using this wallet for almost 10 years now(on my second one), Always gets a great reaction & I have never had anyone question the motivation for putting the card in the wallet.
