I got my set from Worldmagicshop in the UK. The magic is truly unique, a lot of beautiful effects, well presented, clear explanations, nice props, this is going to give me a lot of fun during the following years. Perfect? Not really, the dvd's show heavy vibration in the player, some all the time, some with a part of the effects. I'm afraid this is bad for my dvd player and I hope the discs will be replaced.
I also hope there will be a forum for everybody who bought this set not only for people who bought at a certain shop. I bought at Worldmagicshop and did not get any extra dvd's or other thing. I bought there because I experienced they have a very good service. I also think that the more people are in a forum, the more they can help each other. I for my part have already several different interesting variations on the new LVL which I would be happy to share in a ( well protected ) forum. No secrets on Youtube!

Hi Guys,
If you have purchased from us and you sent me an email I will be getting your replacement discs out next week as soon as the replacements come in. I'm looking at Wednesday at the latest to start shipping them out. Again, I apologize profusely for the issue, it was not something that anyone on our end could forsee or prepare for.
I am preparing the list of replacements as we speak and EVERYONE will be taken care of! Email me at jm@trueastonishments.com with any further issues.

Thank you, to everyone for their patience and understanding.

Best,
Jason

These things happen Jason. It's cool. I just think it's great the amount of effort you have put in after the sales.

Once again. I'm very happy to have bought off TAP.

Now back to practicing! Smile

Getting this set reminds me of the excitement of getting my First Tarbell set in the early 70's when I was a young teen. There is not only a wealth of knowledge and principles, but theory, art, history, and practice of magic like in the Tarbells.
They have all this in the TA set with the interviews.
TA is a more modern approach and more up to date material.
Like I said, I did not buy into the pre-hype. But now that I have it and am watching it, I am all hyped up. It gets better every day. I played with Ripped and Fried last night, and was up until 4am!
If you do magic, this set is a must.

I'm becoming addicted to Lubor's Lens, since it's so appealing to see no pen in my hand when there's a pen in my hand! I'm thinking that I might try it out tomorrow with a friend who is interested in this kind of weird stuff. The material on Disc 4 is amazing, and I know the material on the other two discs I can access will be great too!

Acchessor: Reality Twister is an extremely strong effect. I use it for walk-around now.

I also have been performing Lubor's Lens--today I had a woman at work scream when she saw the twist in the pen--and of course I let her keep it. I hope I can get some replacement lenses at some point, mine is already starting to get scratched up. -J.R.

Yes, I've seen "Reality Twister" on sale at the Magic Pro Shop for under $15.
I'm guessing this is the same as the Lubor's lens?

Ok, I just noticed they are out of stock. I'm sure TAP will have these soon.

I believe Reality Twister was discontinued. TAP may have extra lenses you can buy but the whole Reality Twister package included the lens, instructions and the twisted pen.

TA teaches you how to make your own twisted pen so you can choose the pen and you can let them keep it afterwards if you so choose. The explanation mentions that the lens will get scratched over time but that it'll still work just fine.

I finally watched every single effect, and there's not even one effect that's filler. Every effect, IMO, is strong enough to be a closer or an opener with several truly strong effects. Also, every effect is pretty easy to do so you can focus on the astonishment. I did Son of Stunner, Half-Moon, Belly Button, and PH vanishing deck today and all got amazing responses. I have a gig in a week and a half, looking to add at least a few additions to my set.

Btw, I was #62
Unleashing the moment of astonishment, one impromptu situation at a time.

For those of you that are liking Lubor's Lens, you might want to pick up the book, "Astonishing New Twists," written by Pete McCabe. Some great stuff in there... full blown ideas, and barely explored pieces of strange... all kinds of stuff.

I enjoyed the book.

Well, Lubor's Lens on the TA set is wonderful.

Briefly ( so I don't out you all to sleep ) here's a presentation idea I had:

" Years ago I did some shows for folks at NASA that worked on the Hubble Telescope and they gave this to me. I'm sure you all know the Hubble telescope bends the fabric of space, which allows it to bring in those images from light years away " ( I know, shame on me ).

And then perform the effect(s) with the lens.
"Of all words of tongue and pen,
the saddest are, "It might have been"

I use it as follows:

I take out the lens and tell them it's a cheap magnifying glass that I got from a cereal box. I show them the pen, place it on their hand and place the lens over it. I make the center of the pen vanish and then come back. I repeat. I let that sink in, as if that's the only thing I wanted to show them. I also emphasize that it's an illusion. Then, I start twisting the lens from side to side to make it look like the pen is twisting and I ask them what it looks like. They say twisting or breaking. I acknowledge this and I keep twisting the lens as I say it's just an illusion, but sometimes illusions can become... reality. I pull away the lens and the pen is twisted.

I'm not sure I like the effect with the lens and the match. What do you guys think? Anyone try it yet?
