I bought it on eBay, to be honest I didn't buy it for the tricks or secrets, I bought it for the interviews. I might be the only person here to say this, but I am glad I didn't pay full price, the interviews were the only thing that I found to be worth the set and of course listening to Paul talk.
The tricks, are just like anything else in magic, more tricks, some are good, some are new, some are newish! Im old school, do the same sets over and over and over again so you become the best at the tricks you do. Getting new tricks is something I use to do when I was learning, that is why I have a large library of magic that I need to go through and sell, however the time it would take probably isn't worth the profit. Well done to Paul for all the interviews, its nice to see people talk about the real side of what we do, however then it convoluted with all the tricks. LOL Sickmagic |

Everyone in the immediate area I live knows me as the family magician and kid clown so I would feel funny buying such things here where everyone knows me. And I did not want to have to explain. Funny what we go though for magic. I did practice Paper Propeller a few times back when I fist got the set, but my health was not good at the time and I could not keep practicing the physical part of it without a lot of pain. Yes even those simple motions hurt. I am now recovered, so I will have to try it again. I did get it once or twice the first time I practiced, it is really a fun thing. ACE

I have rolling papers readily available... HOLD IT, I don't roll that way (no pun intended)... I'm strongly anti-marijuana (STRONGLY). I have them because I bought them off Martin Lewis for his brilliant Undivided effect on his lecture tour.

Anyone get the nice newsletter from Paul's sister? Looks like Paul will be selling some boxed TA sets as well.

Wow, what an eye-opening set! Beautiful stuff... a mixture of good, bad, excellent, awful. But you'll see my views on every single effect in my series of TA video reviews, being posted gradually. Number One is up now, check out the link in this DVD review section!
Effect-wise, I'm loving: The Weirdling Ripped and Fryed Lubor's Lens Naked Strange Unstable Label Growing Card Muscle Bend Reswindled Transcendental Bar Bet Twilight Angels And my favourite easter egg thus far is Conjunction. I'd had my eye on this for a little while and am happy to learn it here from the concise explanation by Rhada Thombre. It's addictive, and so cool!!!!

I suck at Conjunction. I muddled my way through it once but I seem to be missing something when I try ever since then. I actually gave up for a while but I want to try again.

LOL! It's knacky, and very precise, that's for sure... after you do it a good 5-10 times you should be able to get it every time.

I only did Twilight Angels once, as I did not want to leave a bunch of 2h's all ove the room! lol ACE

I did it toward the end of the night as an encore for one of the main clients to keep. It was a group of about 10.
Everyone starting saying: "You are really good!" You are amazing!" etc., etc. ACE

Let's review, just for a second.
You take the time to spin a tale that somebody created in order to give a "trick" context. You present it as factual and an act of skill. The spectator either believes you or humours you (the difference is irrelevant). Your response is to tell her it's a trick and it's impossible to do that? Acesover's is then to ask if she is blonde? Is this really the way you want to treat your audience? In particular people who are buying into what you are selling? Is this really the way you want to treat your art? What kind of spectator is she going to be if anybody else ever performs for her? Maybe the "Oh, it's some trick, don't believe anything he says" kind. I've always wondered how badly somebody has to treat their spectators to make them that way. Turns out the performers don't even realize it. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, you trivialized your entire performance for anybody who heard you say that. Of course, that begs the question, what would I have said: She asks if I ever get caught and one (of almost infinite) response is simply: "Isn't it amazing?" She leaves feeling amazed instead of fooled by a "trick" that "is impossible to actually do". Originally I was going to let this slide and see if anybody said anything about it. The blonde comment (yet another dig at the audience) just... argh... Seriously guys, wtf?! This really seems like the right thing to do to you?!?!?!?!? blah blah blah "It was a joke" blah blah blah. Well, let me know when you get to a punchline that's funny and not just sad. There was a thread in Penny for Your Thoughts about some random online chat thing. People were introducing themselves as magicians & mentalists before embarassing themselves (and all of us by association) there too. You guys should form a club. Oh wait, THAT is why I hate magic clubs, I had almost forgotten. Don't bother responding to me, there's absolutely nothing that can be said that makes this good or funny or even interesting. To me at least, obviously it's high humor for most of you. Not an insult, simply an observation. That makes me sad. Quote:
