Another quick note...for all of you trivia collectors...the Wizard that ocassionally peeks from behind the mushroom is the logo I drew in the 70's for "The Rainbow Magic Machine" the company name under which Paul and I produced his second book (...Most Intimate Secrets) If you own a copy you can find it printed there. I had no idea it would appear in this set.
"The Foolery" which Chuck Martinez mentions in an interview was where I learned to pitch magic very shortly after I met Paul. It led to "The Sears School of Magic" which Paul and I both taught along with others (Paul had essentially designed the curriculum) Yes, we'd both like to forget that...but here I am bringing it up...and it is making me laugh big time. "Sears...Where America Shops" ...and drives a salt shaker through the table. Patrick

I also want to mention for the people who are BIG fans (like me) of the sense of humor that is present in Paul's books...it's on the dvd's...it translates VERY well...I found myself laughing out loud...A Lot!

So it's good to see I'm not the only one who didn't receive the TA set. I should've sprung for the express shipping.

I also agree, Bro is amazing! His entire performance style is amazing. So innocent and yet so mechanically sound... a dangerous combo indeed! It's real art!

Any word on the TA forums??? Jason? Have a few thoughts I would love to share however I don't know this would be the appropriate place to share.
Patrick I am absolutely blown away with your effect and I am ever so tempted to set some of these up in my place of work. (which happens to have 20' ceilings) Which has me excited as well as discouraged due to the inability to truly appreciate up close. Sean |

I'm also anxiously awaiting the TA forums.
I found the time tonight to watch Discs 5 and 6. Since it's already 3AM though, I can't stay up another hour to write play-by-play reviews as I have for some of the other discs. I expect to have full reviews up for the whole set by the end of the weekend. I had my first TA performance experience today. I made myself a twisted pen, and performed Reality Twister for my Uncle. He got really into the whole process, and loved looking through the lens to see the effect that it has. When I finally removed the lens to reveal that the pen was actually twisted, all he could do was laugh with surprise. I believe I might have some other chances to perform some of the easier stuff from the set as early as this weekend for a few test audiences (Don't worry, no important or paid gigs yet. Just friendly, familiar audiences) I can't wait to see what's left in store on discs 7 and 8. For the discs I watched tonight, I'll just say that Andrew Gerard is a genius and people should pay attention to what he has to say. I'll also say that Patrick Snowden has a great voice and should be doing movie narrations. Kevin

I am one of the ones who picked Parcel Post and am regretting it. At the time I ordered, I thought 'Well, it won't even ship for a month, why pay for express shipping?'. Well, now I know why. I am in Missouri, and Parcel Post hasn't reached here yet. I know, 4-7 days. I am not complaining, just kicking myself. I thought I might get it a little later, but I didn't think that there would be people who watched all 9 disks before mine even arrived. I am just hoping that it shows up today so I can spend the weekend watching it.

Got mine yesterday (UK based) and have watched 3 disks so far. This DVD set is unreal! I haven't seen one bad effect yet, the whole thing really is superb. Good to see that Paul Harris has stayed true to his beliefs, the material selected here is truly astonishing. Along with new stuff there are some really nice twists on PH's older creations that bring them screaming into 2009.
The Phootnotes are a real insight into the Paul Harris way of thinking, he really does see magic effects in the way a layman does I'm sure, he nails it every time. I wasn't expecting all those props! I knew about the TA Pen, but wow... So much extra stuff! A bit of advice... When you get yours, take some time off from being a magician and just watch the performances, bask in the glow of being naive and full of wonder, it will do you good.
