Mmmmmmmmmmm. just finished a night at mardi gras 2009 in New Orleans... magic is awesome... I know I am a totally male, but wow, magic is GOOOOOD in this city.. especially when ladies are drunk and wanting so much to show off their "goods" for a few beads... acutally, show a great TA trick and get SHOWERED with beads... FREAKING awesome if you've never been, GO!!!!!!!!!!!! what great and wonderful people and what a party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TA rules. actually, any trick will get most people. Most are drunk and partyed out..... even simple tricks get people... by the way... I saw 2 different people running 3 card monte on boxes on the street, not as street performers, but as "swindlers". They were really taking peoples money. CRAZY!!!

Where are you from? I Live here, lol. I met one guy last year who did the shell game, I won, and he never paid. He was sloppy, or maybe he was trying to get me in. He would not pay unless I put up $20 and he would match it, with someone else holding it, so I walked on. And I do the shell game. But wait, this is the TA thread, yes TA at Mardi Gras Rules! Then there is the billboard about the New Orleans stimulus plan, and Rick's Cabaret, nevermind, lol.

TRUE, however he's fortunately won't have to endure the wait that most of us on this board had to go through. Smile

Hey, quick question -- is the material shown on the demo of Paul shooting the cards between the fingers of his hand actually on the DVDs? Or is it, like the shots of Paul and Bro through the cabin window, just for the trailer? I've pretty much seen everything now and don't remember it.

No, it's not. (well, I didn't see it anywhere!)

I was wondering the same thing. You can see it in the Stars Of Magic set.

Can anyone tell me what effect are these for:
2 sheets of "Total Access DVD training Series" cards with poker hand rankings, each sheet has two cards printed on them so once they are cut out you get 4 cards (44mm x63mm)

There is an easter egg called the Bizarre Ad Shrink on I think Disk 5. . . I could be wrong but it is a really quick and visual trick to do with those cards you usually throw away. This was originally the Bizarre Shrink that was just done with cards.

Yes, but I'm wondering if the footage of Paul doing it on the trailer is footage from the DVDs itself. It doesn't appear to be.

I think that footage is only in the preview. I've watched all of the main content and cookies, and I didn't see this bit anywhere.

Congrats Aleksi!

Most of us who have it are speechless as well. (just look at the low volume of posts on this forum in recent weeks)

Has anyone watched Patrick Snowden's Tensegrity? I watched this today and caught myself in the mirror with my head turned like a dig does when they are trying to understand something. My mind whirled with methods and I was wrong on everyone of them.

I can't even imagine anyone coming up with something like this.

The entire presentation for Tensegrity was incredible. Starting with the performance, I was as astounded as the spectators. What a beautifully visual & graceful effect. Patrick's explanation was detailed and clear. The effect takes prepartion time and practice... which (as Patick says) looks like fun. The prop preparation appealed strongly to my "inner craftsman". This effect is astonishing.. <cubed>.

I finally presented on of the TA effects to my favorite audience, my wife. I wanted to do LVL$ but she did not have the requisite back pocket so Extraordinary Proof was next. Since I hadn't had a lot of practice time, it was a good candidate. I used a different method of revealing the selected card, putting it under a magnet on the refrigerator door. It was within sight but we were in the family room so there was some distance.

The performance went very well. When I first told her about "my dream" of the selected card, she acted politely amazed but expressed some understandable scepticism. When I told her to go into the kitchen and look under the magnet... she was ...astonished... (just like it said).

Being a stark beginner, I was astonished that it went so well. Smile
