Has anyone seen them before? Are they any good? It looks a bit Jim Rosey for my liking - is this the case?

They transpired from Archaos and as a tented show were fab. When they staged it, it lost a lot of its intimacy with the species and became pretty boreing. Saw their latest presentation a few weeks back in Swindon and although they tried, the stage venue presentation failed.
Seen at the Roundhouse for several seasons (Camden London) This venue was the only one suited to their presentation. The Roundhouse venue is huge and staged top bands over many moons (Pistols, Stones etc) They were really fantastic shows once more with up close in your face presentations. Tented at the start a side kick from Archaos backed by Jerry Cottle, this was the only Circus who put bums on seats to capacity at every show. Their presentations were of an adult nature (Many Cities banned them from performing in their area`s, which garnered great press and filled their tents to overflowing where ever they did appear). Circus acts with a heavy metal music backing have always appealed to me, the OTT presentation, soft porn come crazy aspect also tickles my fancy, just great, down to earth entertainment. The group fronted by Dr Haze (Mark Bowlans son)Add a good deal to the feel of the thing and Haze has attempted a few tricks / stunts himself. The core of the entertainers come from Circus (Check out on the programmes how many of J Cottle`s daughters are featured,) My old mate (God I miss him) Barry Walls appeared as Baby Boy (You had to see this to believe it !!) Wasp Boy (Bastard Son of Tommy Cooper) Did sword and tube swallow, not sure how long he ran with them.Etc etc, all top grade spec acts. Behind the scenes sponsorship from another friend, now passed over to the show in the sky,,, J Beadle,,,watch out he`s about !!! Yep Jerry B and Jerry C put a hell of a lot of cash, blood and guts into this venture and it made em £***** well!! a hell of a lot. Circus of Horrors up until it changed to a stage show was the tops. Now as a stage show with a U rateing,,,guess still ok as a family show but for me,,,no way. Ken. |

All I've seen of Jim Rose is his circus show DVD which I found a little much for my tastes. The man is a very successful showman, so I'm not criticising his talent. He also seems to have done a good job of bringing about a greater public awareness of sideshow. I just don't particularly enjoy his style of presentation or his persona. It seems to dumb things down a little to me. I'd prefer something with a dash more class. But then he has himself a very large audience, so I expect the fact I don't enjoy his style probably won't bother him all that much.
