In my show I blow bubbles then reach into the middle and grab one that becomes soild. That I drop with a loud THUMP! I want to do more with this. I have been toying with the idea of making it smaller, then squashing it flat and then having the kids help me blow it back up to it's regular size, and then releasing it back into the bubbles from whence it came. What do you do with your bubble effects?

That sounds like a cool idea... Here are some more ideas...
Catch A Bubble by Spin Master Toys I don't know how many people have seen this but it is a bubble solution that when blown dries in the air and makes bubbles that can really be handled! Just an idea! Good Luck!

I have one useful tip about this illusion.
A magician did this at my son's party years ago. It went over great with the kids. Like most kids magic, the magician's ability to entertain and involve children mattered much more than the effect. I wanted to do this myself. I went to a local magic shop that sells these hard 'bubbles' for $10.00 a piece. I was going there to buy something else, so I passed on that. I later found a local craft shop that sells them for $2.95 for a bag that contains 20 of the exact same marbles! Go to a craft shop if you need these!

I have this trick too. Yes you catch it then squish it. You can make it round again. I juggle three acrylic balls. I want to work them in with bigger bubbles as an ending. Just haven't taken the time yet!

I wonder who invented the idea of grabbing a bubble that becomes solid?

I was toying with the idea of showing a silk with bubbles on it, then change it to a plain silk with real bubbles appearing from behind (ala bubble machine). You then ask the kids "I wonder where the bubbles went?" pretending not to see the real bubbles, to which you will surely get a response. You then go to the solid bubble production.
It's just an idea, but I haven't used it yet. Daytona Magic sells a bubble silk.
