Greetings,
On my cup of Owens, copper, there is a very small black spot on the metal. I am wondering if someone know what this might be and if it is something that would polish out? Does this sound familiar? Thanks, John |

Bill Palmer will probably have some thoughts on this, but before he chimes in, let me give you my thoughts.
I think this spot is toxic. Probably best to dispose of it and the other cups in the proper manner. Send it to me and I'll make sure you never have to worry about it. Nice guy that I am, I'll even pay for shipping costs. Terry

It's a speck of tarnish. Any good copper polish should take it out.

I have a set of old stainless steel cups that have quite a few black spots on them - as if the stainless steel has been worn away to the base metal (?). Any ideas on how to get these out? Reluctant to scrape or scrub for fear that I may make the problem worse.
