It's the one where you show the spectator 5 cards and have them mentally select one. The cards are removed, and then 4 cards are put down again. The card you picked is gone.
I've heard it referred to as the David Copperfield trick but I want to know the proper magician's name for it. |

I understand it is the Princess Card Trick (credited to Leipzig, I believe)...also, in Expert Card Technique you can find Vernon's 5 Card Mental Force which will allow you to do the same thing (far different handling, though).
Or you could just log onto a myriad of computer websites that seem to offer it, too.
THE FIVE OBLIGATIONS OF CONJURING: Study. Practice. Script. Rehearse. Perform. Drop one and you're done.

'Princess Card Trick' was invented by Henry Hardin. It's in "The Art of Magic" published in 1909.

I think it might be in a book called "101 magic tricks with cards" too but I'm not certain. It is a very good effect though.
Good magic to all. Eric |

It is a very simple trick which I've known for quite some time, but lately I was fooled by it! How stupid I felt.
My mind reading routines: http://www.basjongenelen.nl/goocheltrucs/. Scroll a bit down to the English routines.
