I also wonder about using material from Patrick Redford's "Heptagon" book. It's all meant to be done over the phone. I ordered it a few days ago.
My friend performed the "Rock Paper Sciccors" routine for me over the phone three weeks ago... wonderful. You could definitely do it for a caller. The listener plays RPS with both hands. You tell them which hand wins after each round, then in the final round, you tell them what they're holding in each hand... Rock, Paper or Scissors. I've been told that when I receive the manuscript I'll find at least two or three commercial ideas. Bobser, I hear your concern with lottery type effects. Really, I even get the "why don't you play the lottery?" question when I do other, non-lottery related predictions. You're right. It's hard to answer. My friend Chris says "I use my powers for good." In the case of Predicta, the AUDIENCE correctly guesses the numbers, so... why don't THEY play the lottery? Cheers. -Mike

Hi Mike, thanks for getting involved.
I'm smiling because I've just got this vision of sitting on live radio and being asked "why don't you play the lottery then?" and answering with: "I only use my powers for good" and the DJ answering: "Yeah, right." I'm guess your friend is round afout 11 years old? LOL

How about becase the future is never certain. if you make a prediction out loud then there is more chance of the events being altered as a result, that is why we have them in envelopes and boxes, so that the event has a more sucessful chance of coming true.
that's the excuse I use anyway, kind of like the butterfly effect. Peas & Gloves Matt |

Matt, in radio magic Steve Shaw talks about this. He says that when he's challenged on why he doesn't teel anyone of catastrophes he says "but if I told the authorities of a disaster they wouldn't believe me. And because I've warned them, that in itself would cause a rift and it wouldn't happen anyway" (paraphrasing slightly).
With the utmost respect to Steve this of course is a crazy reply. In all fairness to him one that he'd probably never use many years on. Simply because by definition, in the telling lives get saved.

I agree with you Bobser however I tend not to predict disasters or things like that.
If on the offchance that people were going to predict something like a disaster its always best to be sketchy about it. For example a plane crash or a terrorist attack, whilst I wouldnt predict something like this it wold be best to not have too much detail in the prediction. If the disaster was "747 Plane crashes in Nevada Desert" the prediction should be something like "Plane Crash in Deserted Area" You would say that you saw a plane crash somewhere but you didn't know exactly what plane or where it would happen. I tend to predict things that could possibly be predicted like newspaper headlines and words from books, these could be given legitimate examples of how you predicted them without giving away the method. Peace & Love Matt |

I told him last night, "I could do plenty of good with 20 million dollars!" I still say letting the audience guess the scratch-off numbers is safe. They predicted the lottery, not the performer. Enough about Predicta. I'll drop it. I wonder if you could do the classic Locked Hand Test on live radio? Usually an opener for hypnosis shows, I think. There are a few suggestion-based tricks like that... getting their hands stuck to the table, etc. Hopefully no one would complain about a wreck because their hands got stuck to the steering wheel. "This one's for the listeners at home." Best of luck.

Funny you should say that pcychic sam, That appears to be the real story of my life.
Yes Mike, that's something I'm planning to do. I've already had a dry run with someone the radio DJ introduced me too. A very zappable guy! However we can't legally hypnotise on radio, but we can re-induce (but NOT call it that). It's a mad mad mad mad world.
