Just saw an episode of Monk called Mr. Monk and the Magician. LOTS of MAGIC shown in this episode by an actor named Steve Valentine. Much of this episode took place at The Castle. Some exposure in the show but none that hasn't been exposed before by other people.
Anyone see it? I did a search for Steve Valentine and all I could find was that he's an actor with an "interest" in magic. Anyone know who he is? Just curious... From memory, the magic shown in the show was : 1. Shadow Coins 2. Business Card Manipulation 3. Zig Zag 4. Chic productions 5. Torn and Restored Newspaper 6. Salt Vanish and Reproduction 7. Dancing Cane (which was exposed) 8. Vanashing Girl Cabinet ...and what seemed like 100s of other effects. Seemed like LOTS of magic shown in this episode. I think I saw that Tony Clark was an advisor for the show but the credits flew by so fast it was hard to tell... Anyone with info on this...???

Steve Valentine is a hobbyist magician. A few months back I ran into him at Fantasma magic in NYC.
And yes Andrew Goldenhersh who appeared in the episode and Tony Clark were the magic consultants. |

MagicMan,
Steve Valentine was Close-up Magician of The Year at the Magic Castle a few years back. He is not a hobbyist. G0THIKE |

I didn't know Steve but based on his sleight of hand skills I thought he was a pro not a hobbyist. The show was quite good. I like it.

He is a magician and an actor as well. Last I saw he was on crossing jordan as a regular character. He's been in a lot of television shows, as well as movies.
I was surprised to find him on a magic tape I have, teaching thumb tip tricks once. Before that, I never knew he was also a magician... I always just thought he was an actor. Steven |
