That was hilarious! I love the finish!
And I must say, I used to love Jack in the Box when I was a kid. We don't have them here in Minnesota, but every time we visited my aunt in LA, I demanded we go there. |

The performer, John George, worked close up at the Castle today and killed with his cups and balls. Produced as finals an 8-ball, a cup filled with water and a load of half dollars that must have filled the cup. Nailed me on that.

David Regal uses fake mice and cheese (real?) in his chop cup routine, it was fun to watch.
I wonder how John George handled a full cup of water, that must have been difficult? |

I saw John George at the LA IBM convention in 1998 (I think it was).
He blew my mind with his cups and balls. Just a wonderful routine. I recall him being many feet away from a cup when an object (an egg? a chunk of gold?) appeared on top of one of the cups. It was one of those "mind-bending" moments. |

Yeah, that was it! Both an egg AND a chunk of gold, all rolled into one.
That was a heckuva moment. The audience gasped all the oxygen out of the room. |

I wish I knew how he got the huge number of coins under the last cup.

The genius of John's cups and balls is that the final loads are a call back evreything he did prior. Logical and suprising. Might be ten years since I saw it in Vancouver.

I also like the production values. The torn corrugated cardboard signs and operating surface killed me! Also the black background with sleeve holes made it easier to concentrate on the action. Brilliant low tech!
