For now, I only have the coin with the 2 folds in it. It fits, but slips out too easily. Until I recieve the single folding coin, is there any way I can keep the 2-fold one in place?

In a word, no. You'll need to buy the coin from JB. A great cross sell.

This is why I really dislike this gimmick. For the money, they could have included the coin you NEED... the marketing material says "a coin most have" which is a lie - 95% of us have the two fold ones.

That's strange this post cane back up. I originally posted this Feb 26th, and it was just TODAY I got the actual spilt coin (split in the middle) in the mail. I ordered it the other day when I found it on a site called magicplaceus. That coin was kind of hard to find, and YES, it should have came with the effect. I have a few of the two fold coins and tried pushing something into the gimmick to try and make it work but it just kept falling out.

Blindspot is a rip-off of The Insider by Jon Allen.
The gimmick is virtually identical. Bob should have done his research before releasing this one. |

I don't understand something that I read here in the Café A LOT! YOU DON'T NEED A SINGLE CUT FOLDING COIN. I purchase the effect recently in a convention and MARK MASON tells to me that the coin is for a better exit of the coin from the bottle but the gimmick works well with a regular folding coin.
I'm now doing for friends, university, family and have a great response. So, don't worry about the coin, THE DEALER tells to me that can be used with a regular folding coin! My best, Hansel!

I have tried it with BOTH of my double cut folding coins and if you literally move the bottle the coin falls out. I've tried this a ton of times like that and ONCE it stayed. And the one time it stayed it was like I was doing everything in super slow motion that's how careful you had to be without it falling out (it was just a practice run, I wasn't performing for anybody) I just wanted to see how "gingerly" you had to be with the bottle to keep the coin in. Hansel, you use a Double Cut coin and this is the coin you are using to perform with? I just don't understand how you get it to stay. I don't know why Mark would say this when it says in the instructions it will not work with a double cut coin. Well, I guess if it works, then use it!

Nate:
I use a Tango Internal system coin and it plays well. I don't juggle to much with the bottle, but I handle it normally and they don't fall. When Mark explain to me the use of a single cut coin they say that this was for the outcoming of the coin from the bottle at the first try. Hoping this helps, Hansel!

You've posted that it's a rip off in 3 topics on the Café but you provide no substatiation nor have you replied to my questions about the matter! Whatta ya got? MMc |

I'm curious about that, too. That would be pretty bold to come out with a gimmick that is similar to the Blindspot/The Insider, whichever came first. If this true regarding "The Insider" because the way I look at it, whichever one came out first, the other one is "ripping off". I don't think this gimmick was thought up by 2 different people at different times. Hansel, that's great that the coin you have is working for you, I hope you had it BEFORE you bought Blindspot, so you could get right into the effect, unlike me, who didn't start the effect until weeks after I ordered the $20 coin that fits the gimmick properly.

I have a question regarding Blindspot.. I understand that it needs a folding coin to work. My question is whether a regular matching coin is needed for the effect as well to present the routine.
Thank you. |

Yes. You need a matching "regular" coin to do the effect.
