Wondering if anybody can help me with my research. I'm trying to track down the history of the Professors Nightmare trick. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe we covered that within the past year in a very extensive thread on the Café. There are over 78 pages of reference on this site in regards to the effect. I have over six variations plus new methods to achieve the illusion, plus spoofs on it in my lecture and on youtube. There are several people working on books on the subject. Members Kotah and Spellbinder should be able to help with this.

There articles about the history of Professor's Nightmare in The Linking Ring in both February and November of 2008.

The Linking Ring articles Murf has mentioned will basically tell you all you might want to know. I also highly recommend this as your go to source.

Info on the effects originator, how the effect was named etc. A very informative and correct read to be sure.

Thank you. Not being a member of any magic organization I don't get to read the magazines. I did however manage to do my own research elsewhere and find what I needed for my new book. Thanks to everybody who emailed. While there was 78 posts on the Café, none of them talked about the history of the effect.

I distinctly remember the mention of Hen Fetch and Gene Gordon connection within those 78 pages.
