Hi, a few questions, which is thicker? Is the milling about the same?
Which are likely to be `softer`?
Thanks.

Well I'll tell you this the Morgans are beautiful to work with and look great.

Good magic to all,

Eric

Ps I believe they are just about the same size also you can get coins "softer" at a site called http://www.coingaffs.com

I would say that the millling on a Morgan is slightly better then the milling on a Peace Dollar...

I'm not sure on the thickness as I'm at work and don't have coins to referance... but they are about the same I would say.

Morgans have a cleaner, better defined, design impression than a Peace dollar if that is important. The edges on a Morgan are slightly thicker and as Shawn mentioned the milling is sharper. Overall, Peace dollars are not as popular in gaffs as Morgans are.

Really get what ever works best for you, in the end they will accomplish the same thing.
I like the look of a Peace Dollar better but give me washers and I'll do the same thing with them.

Then there's the question of "soft" Morgans vs. uncirculated 1921 Morgans...

This involves issues such as the noise factor (as coins slide against each other, for example in Three Fly) and visibility (shiny new coins catch the light more when produced, for retention passes, etc.).

As said above, whatever suits your purpose is the best coin.

Cheers,
Jerry

Of the ones I have seen that are purchased at cost for the silver (NOT COLLECTIBLES) the peace dollars are thinner, smoother milling, and overall a softer coin. I would use my Peace Dollars for a coins across/fly routine. I would use my Morgan's for a coins through silk(Ammar) type routine, or anytime I want the sound to be more of a factor.

In my experience its easier to find soft Morgans, they circulated for a much longer period of time. Can't help you with the milling - Its not something I pay attention to. I find the difference between the tow styles more aesthetic, they both handle similarly. Peace dollars seem to polish to a lighter color.
