So I am looking for a program to work on Vista or my XP computer. I need a good program which I can create great videos and animations from mostly just photos.
What I am doing is taking a bunch of Harry Houdini photos and other past famouse magicians and trying to make a 30sec. video of it so I can have a story of some sort in one of my illusions. Can anyone recommend any programs/softwares that would be ideal for this? Thanks - Michael

If you could create a presentation in PowerPoint, something like this might be all you need to convert it to video:

Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

The only advantage of making stills into a video is the audio track
otherwise, it's best to just make an animated gif

I have Powerpoint, but Its not really the best to make this type of video. There are some good things and things that you can't do on it.
I'll also take a look at that other program suggested. I reember watching the World Magic Awards a few weeks ago on TV and I remember coming accross a similar video to what I want to make. Infact, also about Harry Houdini. It was in Ed Alonzo's escape act: (0:40 - 1:17) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fns4xyXyy3Q

I have a Mac Pro Computer and I have IMovie and IDVD and a few other Programs such as Final Cut Studio. what you might want to do is check into Sony Vegas for your computer.

Donster, while he did ask for an XP or Vista program, I'm with you.
The best "plugin" for editing on a windows system is a Mac. Scott P.S. BTW, Don, you see the new MacPros just released this week? Wicked cool. I love my MacBookPro, but I am seriously looking into that for my new studio machine. |

ScottRSullivan no I have not seen the new MacBooks. I am thinking of buying a portable computer. but with the price on the macbooks I'm almost tempted to buying another mac pro any suggestions. I also did suggest a couple programs for hom that are compatible with windows. I hope he enjoys his computer.
