Well, its official, I am a shut in. I just took a radiation pill that will kill the last bits of cancerous thyroid in my body. I have to stay at least an arms length from people for 10 days.. No contact with small children or pregnant women, flush toilet 3 times, use disposable silverware, ect. If I tried to get on a plane for the next month, I would set off radioactive sensors and be sent to some secret CIA prison in eastern Bulgaria. So a lot of time on the Café to come. A lot of reading, and shuffling. I plan to make a spread sheet of my card collection. The Dr. told me most people get a hotel room and have room service delivered out side the door, but thankfully I have an entire floor of my house to myself.

I have about 450 decks... Yeah, I know, its a tad over the top. As far as shuffling, I have decided to sacrifice two decks. I am taking the precaution that after ten days of use, some sweat (bodily fluids being radioactive) MIGHT rub off on them. So I will be throwing them away.. Sadly.
But, yeah, old steve will have nothing on me!

Wow !, I sure hope that dang pill does it's job for you. I also hope you'll have enough stuff to keep yourself occupied during that time. If your a collage hoops fan you'll have lots of games to watch. The good thing is it's only 10 days. If it was something like a week and maybe 3 days that would be a lot tougher to deal with.

NB If you get the chance I have always wondered what would happen if a Spider was bitten by a radioactive man. Man-Spider, Man-Spider, does whatever a (ahem) Man can, Is he strong...not really ( well you get the gist) NB If you are going to waste a couple of packs of cards what could be better than practicing card throwing into a waste papaer bin. You'll get a good bit of exercise picking up the misses but could spend many a happy hour on this...I know I do !!! |

Hang in there. And something to pass the time...How about aranging all 450 decks into cool paterns, you know ...like start the first deck in "perfect deck order" then rotate one card in each of the remaining decks so that when all of them are piled together they will be in sequence. |

So Kevin...stir crazy yet? Have you cleaned the apartment, re-arranged the furniture, turned the pictures upside down, worked fifteen hours straight on your riffle cull, watched the history channel until four AM?
