There IS another move clearly visible on the board, so its not the first move. And it's pretty hard to tell if any pieces have been removed. But, you know, who says they are playing by our rules anyway?
Klingon? Isn't that a Predator? Of course, a Predator could be enjoying some fine imported Klingon beverage. No accounting for tastes.

Hmmmm, not the bet of graphics. It does appear on clse inspection that the piece closest to us in black's pawn row is not a pawn. Also take a close look at the shadow cast by black's arm. It appears flat on the board even where it appears to cross pieces. I think this may be photoshopped.

While we pick nits, notice that the square in the players' right-hand corners is black, not white.
This leads to the conclusion that either a) they are not experienced chess players, or b) they are playing some game other than chess on a chess-like board with chess-like pieces. John
