Re: the chess position -- If it weren't for the fact that, as John pointed out, the board is positioned "sideways" for a chess game, there wouldn't be a problem even if no other pieces were developed. Consider: 1. Nf3...Nf6 2. Ng1... now black picks up the knight on f6 and prepares to make his second move, while all of white's pieces are on their original squares.
Reminds me of a game Yasser Seirawan told me about. He was white: 1. e4...Nf6 (Alekhine's defense) 2. e5...Ng8 At this point, the only piece not on its original square is, of course, the white pawn on e5, making it look as if only one (illegal) move had been played. Now, the tournament director comes up, says, "Cute," and puts the pawn back on e2. Seirawan, sensing the great comedy potential of the situation puts it back on e5 without a word (he was in his 20s at the time). The director says, "Gentlemen, the round is underway," and puts it back on e2 again. Seirawan picks up, and as he goes to put it back on e5, says very dramatically, "The pawn is on e5, AND...it is MY move!"
"Torture doesn't work" lol
Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

Remind me never to put out a Monsters Chess set. I might know monsters but I don't know squat about Chess...I'll stick with the Higley's Tiddly Winks maybe.

Now with your flair for making bizarre replicas, and a dash of imagination, why not create a chess set themed with those shrunken heads? Guaranteed there would be people with cash in hand ready to buy.

Daff, if you can, post a pic of your chessboard.
I have a thing for carved skulls, would LOVE to see what it looks like. |

It cool? So you.
I did notice something not quite right with that picture though and it ain't chess. Either the Alien is a big'un or the Predator is hieght challenged. Aside from the Queen's Aliens were shorties and Preds were 7ft plus. Oh well. Still a cool picture!!!
