Wow! What a great thread! Probably the most informative thread I've read so far on the Café. IMHO nothing beats the Bill to Lemon as a closer. I use it everytime in my stand up act and it always kills. I open the show by introducing myself, then immediatly ask for money. This always gets a laugh. Then I put the bill in my "tip jar" ala Cody Fisher and continue on with the show. At the end I ask the sudience member to open the paper sack they've had throughout the whole show and allow them to cut open the lemon to find the signed bill. It never fails to bring down the house. This is basically Cody's routine with added bits of presentation I created myself. You may want to try closing with the T&R newspaper, and act as if that's the end of your show. That will really worry the spectator that you borrowed the money from! Then come back on stage and produce the bill from within the lemon! Not that that is any better than any previously mentioned ideas.. It's just the way I do it. Smile Good Luck with your show!

Have you considered doing the Walk-Around Silk to Egg Routine in a parlor show? Since it resets, you can then go table to table afterward and perform it right there.
