I heard somewhere that Twinkies actually have a best AFTER date as well. There are so many preservatives in them that if they ship them before this date has passed, they may be toxic!!
Regardless of what laws get passed, you are the only one ultimately responsible for what goes into your body, like it or not, unless you have been force fed. It's true there may be deceptive labelling going on, and that should be followed up, but in most cases people don't even look at the label or ask questions. The easiest way to avoid questionable ingredients is to avoid as much processed food as possible, and eat fresh whenever you can. Of course THAT is not easy. -Reg {*}

Well, when I want to eat fresh, I try to buy my produce from farmers markets. They don't spray their friuts and veggies with pesticides so they are better for you. Go figurem even your apples can be poisonous.

Actually, unless the food is "certified organic" you never know if they have used pesticides or herbicides on the produce or not. When my youngest son was a toddler and had lots of health problems, it was recommended that I buy organic fruits and veggies. It was then that I got my education in the "certified organic" labeling.

My dad is a health freak and he makes sure that we eat everything organic. Organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, ect. He limits the sweets he gives us and trys to buy the highest quality everything. In a million years he would never buy us oreos. You probably think he loves this banning thing, but he dosn't. The reason being that it is totally unconstitutional and is just an example of how the government is trying more and more to control our lives.
Do you think that this lawyer really cares about peoples health and the wellbeing of the people of California? This whole case is just polotics and it isn't the first time its happened. McDonalds has been sued many times before, including by somebody who complained that the burgers made her fat. McDonalds burgers will make you fat? I would have never guessed... Do you really want the government to make these choices for you? The kind of people that these decisions are backing up are the stupid people that don't take care of their bodies and don't know that oreos will make you unhealthy. These people will always find other ways of detroying their bodies, so this dosn't really help them. And it definatly dosn't help the other people who can realize that oreos are not good for you. Then who does it help? The government. |

Twinkies only last a month or so. Useless knowledge thanks to TLC...
