I gave strict instructions once at a Hells Angels gig,,,,they picked me up and planted me still in the SJ several hundred yards down the showground inside of a Hot Dog trailer,,,,,I made my escape inside the trailer,,,,they thought that I was a good sport,,,I took it as a gag and we became great buddies.
Still working that gig each year but not expecting any bugger to take notice of my instructions!! Ken. |

Not feeling guilty but everytime I say the word birthday parties you bring it up
I do let them strap me in (is there any other way? Cant strap myself in) I do give strict instructions I forget exactly the things they have done to me but they have done some weird things. I was reasing your order and I do the order exaqctly like you and do the crotch strap last cause I use a joke about the remaining buckle. I do it from top down but don't understand why they would criss corss unless you mea they are trying to connect the bottom to the top? Might be different buckles then mine how many buckles and straps does yours have in the back cause I have 5 or 6. Do you have one of the models with less straps like 3? Cause I havent felt and don't think I could feel if they were pulling a different buckle and strap (Unless of coure they tried to go bottom to top) maybe its cause I have more straps and they are closer together. One time for example they weaved the crotch strap through the arm straps or back straps I think. I forget exactly how but remember thinking Oh **** I never thought they would do this. And saw them snickering.
Thanks,

What I don't understand is why you bring up birthday parties in every sing thread. Why?
By criss cross, I mean buckle #1 to Strap #2. That can happen when two people are doing the back straps together. You could tell if that happens because for it to happen, the jacket would bunch in places (one side of the bottom of the jacket would be a few inches higher than the other), it needs to move for them to be able to get criss crossed. Mine has 4 back straps. If it ever happens and unbuckling the one strap does not do it, unbuckle as many as you need to, the audience never knows.

There he goes pounding away again. Soon we are going to have to claw this one back on track. Get down to tacks and nails. Pin down the facts.
Anyway. The better question is what ages are escapes appropriate? I just donated a performance to be auctioned off for a Quaker School and I am waiting to hear from the winner. Now please think about answering the question before any jokes about me auctioning off myself for charity. Michael http://www.ProfessorFountain.com |

I've performed successfully for children as young as 8-9.
75' challenge tie works especially well for this pre-teen contingent as a challenge finale.

I have been asked by my kids MANY times to do escapes for them...... in fact they both asked to be tied up last year - WELL I say "they asked for it" (inset evil laugh here )
No they really wanted to be tied to a chair! So I did - and videoed their escape - they really enjoyed doing it. They were 4 and 6 at the time - so the concept is not lost on them - BUT they’re around it a lot. My little girl kind of freaks out when I do my body bag escape - but then so do I ! I see no reason why you can’t use it - I sometimes use Mick Hanzliks supa lock with a chain and use kids "I pronounce you man and wife" and that kind of joke plays well - would it work in a Quaker event? Not sure I'm not that well educated. I think you could do it - just don’t get them to tie you up! Actually that could be darn funny - you fail to escape from the kids ties but do escape if an adult does it? |
