This is a project I've long been wanting to do.
Now it's done. In 2006, I designed and carved my very first wood figure, named Mr. Parley. He is one of my main figures until now. Because I used him a lot I feared that I might accidentally damage him, so I planned on having a friend make a fiberglass clone of him. Two days ago I received the exact duplicate figure (together with the mold) . And I just finished painting him now. From now on I will be using the fiberglass figure in my shows and place the original wood in my closet. I wanted to share the attached photo of the two Mr. Parleys. The left one is the original wood, the right one is the fiberglass one. I'm so pleased with the outcome. Thanks! Click here to view attached image. |

I don't know if the photo I attached above was clear, so I'm attaching a new one here.

Ony that is a very good idea and he came out great. The great ventriloquist Johnny Main had duplicates of all his figures mainly his Marshall figures. He too made the duplicates. When I purchased his collection I got all the duplicates and the molds. You are smart as this protects your investment against both loss or damage.

Ony, if I were you, I would still use the original. The other one is just a back up. For me, nothing beats the original, it already has a spirit. If you know what I mean.
