"A deck of cards is removed from its case, which is shown empty. The joker is removed from the pack and replaced inside the case, as you explain that it is a prediction. A spectator selects a card from the rest of the pack. However, it is not another joker-it is a completely different card, for example the king of diamonds. The performer picks up the card box, holding it with the mouth toward the audience so that everyone can see the incorrect joker within. He flicks his finger against the box, and suddenly the joker change into a king of diamonds! The card is removed from the box, which is still seen to be otherwise empty! "

This also works as an exchange.

Place a card face up in the box - it can be selected by an audience member. Say it's the five of hearts. Have another card selected, show it, and place it face down in the the hand of the selector. Let's say it's the seven of spades.

Drop the box, and the red five visibly changes into the black seven. When the second spectator turns over his card, it's the five of hearts.

If it's done this way, no one thinks about a tricky box. They're focussed on what just happened in their own hands.
