Stevens Magic Emporium has two different sets, Mikame set, which is more traditional looking for about $145, then Pete Biro's plumber sticks (which play great) for under $50

I have a Mikame set, very nice.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

I like the sticks that General Grant makes, but they aren't cheap. He makes a short set, I think they are 9 inches that are very nice for under $100.

You might want to look into Kovari sticks. I don't know the current prices, but they are outstanding quality.

If you have an entertaining take, just use the Royal Magic set sets. AFter all, it is the PRESENTATION that really makes the trick. LOOK at the Chinese Sticks video/dvd from http://www.stevensmagic.com
There you will see a lot of varied ideas.

Randi Rain just made a set to look like TNT! I don't know if those are a set ONLY for her or if she's going to market them. I've never performed the CS but I would if they were two sticks of TNT! So many directions one could go I would think with those...

Then you may have some explaining to do. But they are about to be for sale. I just finished working out all the stuff I didn't like about them. Now the string is thicker, it also has easy access to replace it. I also put a brass tube where the string comes out so it doesn't wear away at the hole. They are very quiet now and run smoothly. I also spray them with matte finish. This is what roughing spray is, so they don't slide around and they stay together. My proto-type was good, but these are great!! A very fun prop, and it looks like the retail price will be $45. Randi |
