I am happy to report that my DISINTERGRATION TUBE will be released in two weeks. We've finished tooling the tubes and gimmicks. All we need to do is print the directions and make a video.

No this is not a new killer effect, but its a new and novel way to vanish a bill or small scarf. I personally use this as a way cool way to vanish a bill before it appears in our
Ultimate Light Bulb.

So with all the silk and bill vanishes on the market why introduce another one? Good question this is just a cool way to vanish a small object that your audience hasn't seen before.
EFFECT:
You introduce a small metal tube and hold it at your fingertips. Put a silk, bill or other small object inside the tube. You push the tube into your fist and squeeze. Open your hand and the tube has disintergrated into a handful of metal rings (roughly a dozen)which shower from you hand on the table. NEED I SAY THE OBJECT has vanished!

The disintergration of the tube is very magical looking and always surprises an audience. If doing this on stage you place the silk in the small tube and squeeze and allow the loose rings to shower from your hand to the table top. Makes for a very flashy vanish.

Do it in short sleeves and NO pull is used. No magnets, the way the tube changes to a handful of loose rings is very puzzling to the audience and pleasing the eye.

I have a video of this up so you guys can actually see how cool this vanish looks.

Once again I will be the first to say this isn't an earth shattering effect but does make for a pretty vanish when used in conjection with someother routine.

One of the most unusual vanishes you will ever see. Hands can be shown empty both before and after the vanish.

This is a special precision tube we've come up with. The price will be $19.95 and will be available in two weeks, direct from me, Tilford magic and few other select dealers.

This too is a limited run, once the first run is made there will be no more. I was only able to get a limited supply of the components needed to make this and can get no more. When the first run is gone the trick is off the market.

We've started the web page. The web page is still under construction but it gives some good close-up photos of the effect:

Devin,

Good luck on this venture. Looks very good. Very exciting stuff. I am currently kicking around the idea of producing a small stage illusion for resale, myself.

I wish you the best of luck with this project.

I will watch for it's release.

The video works, but can I suggest you look at it again? It is extremely obvious how the effect works due to the angles.

We have deleted the link to the video. Several magicians have PM me and suggested I reshoot the video without tipping the top of the tube to camera.

Most feel that if reshot without tilting the top of the tube to the camera that the workings will NOT be as obvious to a magician as I had suspected.

A new video will come later shot with the proper angles.

In the meantime you can check out the above web link for photos of the prop.

Having watched the video, I can honestly say that the method is extremely obvious (I mean, why would you stick your thumb into the tube when you'd previously been using your fingers?).

I think it's a nice idea, and a novel approach, but perhaps the method should have been explored further. Off the top of my head I can think of 3 other ways to make the silk vanish that would be so much more practical. Was there any consultation with other magic creators?

Again, a great idea, but it feels as if not much thought went into the actual workings, and that you were more concerned with pushing it onto an already over-crowded magic prop marketplace.

Actually this wasn't a fast, let's push something on the market. This has been played around with for at least 2 years. I've shown proto types to various magicians and we've experimented with different versions including one that used magnet to temporary magnitize the rings.

The method we decide to release turned out to be the most practical for creating the effect of the melting/shattering tube. The novelty of that was what we are releasing. The directions will give several alternative handlings.

IN the main handling the THUMB is not seen to push in the silk only the finger. This new handling is MUCH cleaner and would probably slip by a lot of magicians. The new video will show the improved handling.

My mistake is not trying to rush an imcomplete trick in the market but rathing RUSHING to make a video that didn't have the improved handling. Everyone is always saying lets see a video and I made one too fast without proper thought as to what should have been shown.

The new video will be out within two weeks but will show the proper handling of the tube. I don't think the method will be obvious then (except to those who saw the video we took down and know the basic secret)

Stay turned, the new video will be coming.
