This is unbelievable but it just happened.
A couple of years ago I ordered a pair of glasses from 39dollarglasses.com You CAN get great glasses for 39 bucks! But I wanted special progressive lenses and coatings and sun activated stuff so mine were quite a bit more. About $130 but still $350 less than the local eye dude wanted for the SAME thing. I got the glasses and they have been perfect. The frames are awesome (My eye dude figured they were about $225 frames. haha) all is fine untill this morning. I hadn't noticed they had fallen on the floor and rolled (with me in it) over them with the 'puter chair. oops. Broke off the arm. So...I go back to the 39dollarglasses.com site and look them up. It would be about $130+ to replace. But then I thought the lenses are perfect even after these years and no scratches or anything...perscription is the same... So I call them and talk to Customer Service and the following conversation takes place after I lay out what I want to do... "Well Mr. Higley you're out of warranty and we can't put those old lenses in new frames for you due to insurance policy issues (I thought 'yeah right')" So I said, "Can I just buy the frames and have them put in locally?" She says "Yes of course" I say cool how much and she says "$29 dollars." (believe me when I tell you these are awesome frames with spring loaded arms etc., nicest I ever owned) Si I say "OK let me get my credit card..." and she then Volunteers: "BUT Mr. Higley, I notice on your info that when you bought these two years ago you hadn't ordered a replacement while it was under Warrenty so as a Courtesy, I'll send these out to you and you should recieve them early next week." I said..."Uh...excuse me?" She says " We take care of our customers Mr. Higley, this is a one time courtesy now let me make sure...that was the 3016 Aviators is that correct?" "Uh...yeah..." "Is there anything else I can help you with today?" DO YOU FREAKIN' BELIEVE THIS? Made in America, Serviced in America...I feel like I'm back in the 50's. http://39dollarglasses.com I couldn't recommend a company more.

Rare indeed....but good to know there are still some around. Glad they took care of you.
Now you better go find a Dr. to take care of that arm you broke off when you fell! Regan

What they did, and I appreciate companies that do that, was when they sell the frames they expect the buyer to replace them once during the guaranteed period and it is built into the cost. They keep track of the replacements and if you don't replace it during the period they will do so afterward just as a courtesy. I forgot about this but my wife had the same thing happen with glass frames and they told her they will replace the frame once with no questions. I think that is great, if it was me I could have the clerk break the glasses and I'd have to pay for it.

I checked the buy date and it was May of 07. I got the new frames yesterday by the way. Funny that no where on their site does it say they do this and it was just volunteered PLUS the prices are ro9ck bottom PLUS the quality is top drawer. Amazing.
