So I developed a trick a few years ago with Jumbo cards and while I'm not egotistical enough to believe that I'm the only magician to have ever though of doing this effect before, I'm wondering if anyone has actually ever seen a version of it. It uses a regular sized deck of cards, a single jumbo card and the effect "Bigger Wands" from Creative Magic.
For a kids show, I came up with the idea of having a regular sized card (the 9 of Hearts) chosen out of a deck of cards and shuffled back into the pack. The pack was put into a brown paper bag and the bag shaken up (a silly way to shuffle the deck). I gave the kid my wand and asked them to wave it over the bag and I reached in and produced the 4 of Hearts. Is this your card? No? Is it the right colour? Yes? Is it the right suit? Yes? Is it a bigger heart? Yes?... Okay... I think I know what the problem is... I think we need a bigger wand. I then produce a bigger wand. Kid waves it over the deck... I pull out the 6 of Hearts. Is this your card? No? Is it a bigger heart? Yes?... Maybe we need a bigger wand! I get the kid a bigger wand. Wave. Pull out the 7 of Hearts. Is this your card? No? Is it bigger? You know what we need? The kids all scream out "A BIGGER WAND". The music from 2001 space odyssey come on as I struggle under the weight of the jumbo wand that I bring from off stage. Wave... I pull out the Jumbo 9 of Hearts. The end. Kids giddily scream in delight. The crowd goes wild. Women throw themselves at me. I'm handed the keys to the city. (Okay so I'm imagining a few extra things there!) Anyone ever hear of a trick like that being done before (with or without the bigger wands gag?) |

While this is somewhat like Stretch Card, it is also visually very different, with different props and a should hold the attention of children much better. Usually preforming a long trick for children is the kiss of death due to short attention spans. However, There should be so much movement in this one until I can understand your success with it.

I smiled just imagining the jumbo wand appearance with space odyssey music playing. Sounds like great fun.
