On the previous L&L Malone DVD's, anytime Bill did a Marlo routine, it got huge reactions. And they weren't as difficult as you would think allot of Marlo work would be.

Malone teaching routines from the late great Ed Marlo is a must have on my list. Wow! Great stuff to Louis and the rest of the L&L crew for this! BILL MA - LONE!! |

I just finished watching Vol. 6 - no matter what your skill level is there is some fabulous stuff. Even some of the almost self working material WILL fool you. Get these. If you are at all reluctant, just buy Vol. 1 and then you will quickly be sending in payment to your favorite dealer after you see that for Vol. 2-6. It's a big investment for all 6 volumes but well worth it. Great stuff, fun to watch, usable, etc.

Okay, now that we know the contents of the dvd set. For the Marlo hardcore fans out there, do you think this is the Ultimate Best Of on Marlo's material? Or do you think some major gems that should have been included where left out?

I think a lot of Marlo's best work came in the sleights themselves, not neccessarily in the tricks. To be considered the "Be All, End All Marlo DVDs" they would have to include at least one full DVD just discussing techniques that Marlo refined.

A fair point Jeff, but just think how many useful techniques will be discussed in this series within the effects themselves, that will have wide utility.
Best John Posted: Apr 30, 2009 10:00am I am assuming based on Tim's last post that this will not be sold as a boxed set like the Ortiz collection? John |

No doubt about it,this DVD set contains some of Marlo's best work, but is far from being a complete collection. Many gems still remain buried within his exclusive publications, such as his magazines.
This collection contains material from dozens of sources, many of which are almost impossible to obtain. At 180.00 for the complete set, this truly is an incredible value. |

If I do card magic invented by Marlo - laymen get amazed, every single time.
Marlos faro work is outstanding, he invented so many goodies for faro and stack workers. If you learn his "special" stuff you have a killer card style, sure. Malone and Marlo = killer combination. This new DVD set must be a superb quality reference for any card magician. |

Homing Card (one of the best versions I have seen), Repeater Card to Pocket (REALLY strong), A Startling Climax, Spectator Cuts and Counts Down to Aces (almost sell working but will fool you badly), Vanishing Card, Color Changing Deck, and Surrounded Open Travelers are just a few of my favorites. All of the material is excellent. Even the effects I might not personally use have some great ideas, sleights, etc. that I would use in other effects. Bill is great to watch. He's so funny and a great teacher.
