Hi, everyone, I have a challenge that I hope some of you can meet. I want to see how many words from column 1 below can be associated with ALL the words in Column 2 and vice versa.

You use YOUR OWN words, but below is my sample, but I am only up to 3 words in each column. See if you can get 5 or 6 or more in each column.
REMEMBER, ALL THE WORDS IN BOTH COLUMN 1 HAVE TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH ALL THE WORDS IN COLUMN 2 AND VICE VERSA.

Column 1 Column 2
BOAT FISH
SWIM OCEAN
RIVER WATER

See who can make the longest list?

I think the problem is that you don't provide a more formal definition of "associated" words.

If the puzzle was that the words had to make a new word when combined (in any order) then we'd have some way to judge whether solutions were valid. But it's pretty hard to come up with 2 words that you can't make some sort of association between.

Sorry, the best example I think of is direct associations that are obvious as in my above example. I know what you are saying though, but it should be an obvious connection.

All the words in list one can be associated with ALL the words in list two and vice versa and in ANY combination.

OK, so what you're after is a list of words that are in some way associated, split into two halves.

School Teacher
Professor Mathematics
Pupil Textbook
Homework Study
Class Exam
Timetable Subject
Write Learn
Teach Educate
Grade Student
Read Lesson

etc.

You got it!! Anyone else? Time table may be a bit of a stretch, but that's a great list.

Just take any list from a site like

http://www.synonyms.ca/ridiculous-synonyms.htm

and split it in any way you like, just as Wilburr suggested.
