I thought that nature specifically created little birds to do this kind of work!
Then again, there IS a global inflation going on, and Darwin always stated:
"Get out of that !@#$%^! bathroom and let the others have a go too!".
No, wait, that was my father!

This time, I'm working on a fourth degree. The place of the myth in global history. And I've to build 5 altars...

I found another interesting item: An antique James Keiller & Sons Dundee Marmalade jar.

Image

When you drop a Victorian English penny in the jar, it takes a lot of time before the coin reaches the bottom ...

Quote:
Orange marmalade
When Alice finds herself tumbling down that rabbit-hole on the start of her iconic adventures in Wonderland, she picks up a jar marked ORANGE MARMALADE from a shelf she falls past – “but to her great disappointment it was empty.” And who wouldn’t be disappointed?

That makes 19 items and effects.

Alice was written in 1865, exactly three years after the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Reverend Robinson Duckworth rowed in a boat up the River Thames with three little girls: the date of 1862 on the jar makes sense Smile

Nice addition to the set: the Wedgwood'Queen of Hearts cup and a strange 1900's spoon.

Dear Curator,

I was wondering about this Mary Ann "show" : in what kind of venue is it performed ? Small audience I suppose, close-up setting it seems.
But ,is it performed on a regular basis ?

My questions may sound strange, but I'm deeply convinced that this kind of theatrical, storytelling magic should meet the expectations of our modern audience for a meaningfull magic.

Yet, for example, in Paris, to my knowledge, I'm not able to attend to any of this kind of magic "show".

Could a wonderful piece like this Mary Ann "show" have any "commercial" outcome (even if such a world may sound awful in this context) ?

Or this kind of magic, may be by the theme itself is relying upon, by the size of the audience expected, is sentenced to remain quite confidential ?
Cordially,
Dominique

Mary Ann is a show for groups of 30/40 spectators in close-up/parlour condition, the way I usually perform. Consider this the way you consider private theater.
The show is build for private parties (as I work only for VIP groups in private settings) but may be put on stage. In this case, I'll need a director.
Being Belgian, I've no idea about "similar" performances in Paris, as I never heard about professional performing bizarrists in France.
I've very rare contacts with French people.

Incredible, inspired, stunning!

I just stumbled on this thread and have to bump it. The Alice collection is absolutely beautiful and woven around a wonderful twist on Caroll's ideas. Absolutely breathtaking.

You should also try to find the thread about 'the Coney Island Witch'. Mary Ann will be the main feature of my next French book: Fabula Hermetika.
