Is it just me or is that advertisement just WRONG on sooooo many levels?
How many kids are going end up with some kind of bizarre fixation due to this ad?

I love it! Fox news did it's spin thing the other day on the add. I saw it with my 8 year old son and I was laughing and he didn't get it at all. People on fox were freaking out about it. If you find it offensive .... Turn off your tv.

Wow, there are much more offensive ads than that on TV!
There was one on Disney on freakin Earth Day showing a kid in the back seat on the way to school and he was sad because they were polluting and killing the earth by using energy driving a car, then it showed the kid all happy riding a bike to school because he wasn't killing the earth anymore. THAT was offensive. My kids were sitting there mesmorized watching that crap. I soon corrected that commercial.

I have only ever seen the commercial at times when young children would see it. Responsible parents would not have young children up at the times I have seen the commercial.
Do I think it is a bad commercial, or wrong? Absolutely not. I have been watching Nickelodeon for as long as I can remember. I have seen a lot worse on some of their shows than what is in the commercial. The whole thing refers to Spongebobs "SquarePants."

Crazy & freakin' hilarious.
But if the King touches that part of my kid's anatomy, he's going to jail! (An aside, this would have been much funnier and weirder as a Wendy's ad. It would have a strange kind of logic to it. Have you ever seen the shape of the hamburger patties at Wendy's? )

People need to get a grip. It's funny, and it sells burgers. Brett.

While the King is creepy the first thing I thought was "Wow, that dude is still making money off that song, good for him".
The commercial that has me completely mesmorized is for some cell phone company where you get to pick your 'favs'. The father walks in the little girls are on the phones and he tells them that not everything has to be discussed after they tell him a woman asked about his on line dating. This little girl says "She thinks you are super delicious" about a grandmother and the father says "what does she look like?". What draws me in is pretty much everyone has seen these adult women with the pixie haircut and the glasses and they are just pure dorkie mother types that work as administrative assistants. The little girl with the glasses is a larva for one of those women with the same hair cut and glasses and face but attached to a nine year old. It just freaks me out cuz I've never seen a kid that looked like that but I've seen many adults, now I know what they looked like as kids! |

The whole "politically correct" thing needs to be tossed in the garbage and burned. All that society would need is for people to not be insulting to one another which is a personal responsibility (It may not be realistic but I can dream). And, if someone does something in a joke or in the context of a story that someone else doesn't like, then they are perfectly capable of changing the station or telling their kids not to watch something.

Politically correct is often barely hidden anger/fear. look where the expression came from.
IMHO the advice I'd give is "own your anger/fear and deal with it. quit asking others to pretend not to notice or worse, agree with it." :(

Jon, is V a reference to that science fiction series? I didn't see it so I don't get the reference.

Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.
