I found a nice map showing the current status of the Swine Flu in the Geneva newspaper Le Temps. The map is French, but it's pretty easy to figure out which country is which. (Oh, and the swine flu is la grippe porcine in French.)

Hahaha...sorry but that is a ridiculous (ie: Useless) map.

Please, can we refer to it as a "Freedom" map, rather than a "French" map?
I believe we have an embargo.

Thanks for the link, Doug. I like the even-handedness of the article. The sad scientific truth appears to be that the spread may or may not get worse and the virus may or may not become more virulent.
Yippee. Half of the armchair experts will get to say "I told you so!" John

What strikes me is that many (and I'm not talking about Doug here) of the people who are skeptical about the seriousness of the swine flu are the same ones who were (are still) skeptical about the housing crisis and economic recession. That is, for the longest time they insisted that all was good with the housing market, and that the economy was fundamentally sound and we were not in a recession.
Let's all hope that this time their skepticism is warranted. Quote:

It is a simple colour coded map showing the status of various countries around the world, indicating which category a country falls into: No cases of swine flu, With suspected cases only, With suspected and confirmed cases, With suspected and confirmed cases and deaths from swine flu. It says nothing more, nothing less. Again, what is so ridiculous about a map showing which countries are affected, and how they are affected? I think you are reading more into what it is claiming.

Was talking to a friend last year about Obama. Said I was afraid he'd get elected. He told me, "Ha! When pigs fly!"
And son of a gun, swine flu.

I think this map is more interesting. It actually maps each case.

I don't want to catch this virus.
I am not down playing the importance of being careful. I live near Los Angeles and work in Los Angeles. But I cannot live my life running scared. 14 cases in San Diego, about 100 miles from here. Still the total number of cases in the U.S. makes me think that if we are careful, we can curtail the severity of this and totally avoid pandemic.

The only thing I'm doing differently is that I'm much more aware of hand-washing than usual. Apart fromt that, life is full steam ahead.
