Why do children often ask for the puppet to bite their hand?

I just asked my 7 year old daughter this question for you...she said it was "because kids don't get to put things in other peoples mouths...And it is soft and funny."
So there. |

Sadly I often see parents telling them to do it or the parents do it first and the kids follow suit.

During this season (and really most of the time) I try to discourage it in a fweindly way.
Perhaps it is sort of like the lion tamer putting his head in the mouth of the lion..said Dan D. Lion....(the cowardly puppet, who does happen to be a Veggietaletarian) Harris

I put a boy's head into my puppet lion's mouth in my routine.
If done properly, it can be a really nice routine and photo-taking action. |

My puppets won't eat a child's hand-
--I don't know where it's been! --I'm on a finger-free diet! --Would you want someone to put their fingers in YOUR mouth? GROSS!

My problem is with children coming up and punching the puppet. I'm in there---and It Hurts!
