KB Toys went out of business this past year and I got 3 Doz decks for around $7 a box of 12. I should have bought them all, but when I went back they were gone.

I e-mailed USCPP last night and got a reply this am. Costco is suppose to be getting a shipment in August. They said I could still buy them at Sam's Club or BJ's. They also suggested that we fill out a comment card saying we want them to carry bicycle cards.

The 12 box carton you are seeking at SAM's is a 13 deck carton. It looks like a large bicycle deck box and the box is red. The decks inside are 6 blue and 7 red back regular poker decks.
The blue box like this is the jumbo index card type. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Just go back from Costco in Winnipeg Canada. Lots and lots of Bicycle cards still for sale there. $11.99 for a box of 9 decks. Perhaps this is a US Costco thing.

Need to buy 1,200 decks of bikes for Open Heart Magic. Normally I'll shop Costco and stock up over a couple weeks. I started last Thursday. Everyone is out in the Chicago area as was mentioned. So I started calling and shopping Sam's Club (ugh, had to get another membership.) Two out of the four north of Chicago were out with one noting they haven't had bicycle playing cards since Christmas (Evanston.) Hopefully this won't be a trend for Sam's.
Costco did note that the bikes were no longer in their system. One of the Sam's Club folks we called noted that the cards were active in their system, so that's positive. I cleared out the two Sam's for only 50 dozen. Halfway there. |

Here's what USPCC emailed me
We are working on selling cards to Costco. The sales person in charge of Costco should have an order to them by August. In the mean time you can purchase our cards at Sam's and BJ's. Also please put a comment in the comment box at Costco stating that you want to buy Bicycle cards there. Helen |

I just got back from my local Costco in Burlington (Ontario). They still have a huge pile of 9-deck Bicycle bricks (called the Dealer's Pack) for $11.99 Cdn.

We have a vendor's license, etc. but she laughed (in a nice way) when I asked her about the pricing with no "in" for negotiation. Glad she was up front but egads, I get amazed each time I call. The Costco price just isn't a little cheaper, it's really low balling the market even compared to US Playing Card wholesale prices at least at our quantities. We're good for now with fingers crossed that Costco carries bikes again. If not, then it's US Playing Card or kardwell and maybe we'll start handing out Tally-Ho fan backs. Would love to get the old school close-up magic design back into circulation if the price is right. |

The Sam's Club here in Riverside county only carries the Jumbo Index Bicycles which I don't use so I didn't join the club.
HOWEVER... Tonight I received an email from Deanne Witt, Asst. GMM - Media, Costco Wholesale. She stated, "In response to your email regarding playing cards, we are in the middle of working through some changes to the program. We anticipate being back the item in select locations by early July and in all locations by early September." So, if your Costco is out of them, they will return. GOOD NEWS. -Ron |

I read somewhere that the USPCC is building a large new facility in Boone County, Kentucky. But, they will continue operations in Cincinatti, as well. Don't know if it's true, but that's what I read. It's absolutely true, Robert, according to this news release. USPC, as has been discussed, is also discontinuing several of its lines.

I feel so stupid now looking back. When KB toys went out of business, they had hundreds of bike decks they were trying to unload for .50 cents a pop! I only picked up 10 at the time. Stupid me...
