I wouldn't argue with one thing you said. But the premise of course is that you believe the unconcious knows best and picks the best choice avalable. I believe that too. Although I may have chosen the word 'subconcious'. Semantics perhaps, sorry.
The thing is of course that our joint premise might be wrong. It's possibilities like that that keep me on edge and quite excited about what my beliefs might be tommorrow. Unlike sharp 'craigie' who has his own forum and already knows everything. *** if only I could find a way to train under that guy. Then I'd be ok.

Your beliefs might change due to the fact that you will have more choices!

If you believe something to be true its because youve made a choice due to the current experiences and information you have.

Tommorrow you might have additional opposing info and experience hence more choice in what to believe.

The subconscious is really a model where we believe there are too minds. A conscious and a subconscious mind.

The unconscious happens to be whatever is unconscious and out of awareness at a specific moment in time. For example as you read these words you might become aware of the feeling of your foot on the floor. Or your tongue in your mouth or even your phone number now I mention it. The unconscious is not a separate mind in this model.

Some believe we don't really have much of a conscious mind at all and just about eveything we do is unconscious. Including simple choices like drinking a glass of water. The thirst is not a conscious choice. It involves 120 muscles or more to pick up a glass and put it to your lips.

All done by unconscious programmes which you couldn't co-ordinate consciously. Who you are what you believe is possible and what you end up achieving are all unconscious. Like the urge to log on and type on here....

This is getting too heavy. And it can't be 120 muscles to take a sip of water. Youre trying it on with me again trying to tweak me into believing you know stuff I don't. Stop it!
I mean there's only 206 muscles in the human body (not allowing for amputees of course)! EWhat's the other 86 musles doing? Actually don't answer that. What the hell is this thread about anyway?

You know, bobser, I always find it amusing that when someone on any major hypnotherapy-oriented forum picks apart the argument of someone who doesn't know what he or she is talking about, the person without training or knowledge--or at least the inability to put that into action--ends up whining that the person who showed them up doesn't have rapport with them. This, of course, assumes that the first person is trying to get into rapport with them and forgets that this isn't some sort of personal psychoanalysis but is an open forum. Further, on forums such as this it's quite impossible to get into rapport with a self-centered egotist without simply kowtowing to whatever such a person believes, no matter how correct or incorrect it may be.

Then, when the egotist realizes that he or she has been shown up, that person resorts to the advice given by the Roman orator Cicero, who said (well, I imagine he did it in Latin), "When you have no case, abuse the plaintiff." I'm sure you've seen that lots of time in several forums where, as a bottom level, rather than deal with an issue someone starts with [I don't care about the facts of what you're saying, but "I want to know___" and then fills in the blank with "who you are" or "what you've written," or "who your teachers were," or "what your qualifications are," etc. It's a wonderful technique often taught in debating clubs and public speaking classes.

I'm sure with your training and experience you simply observe such obvious behaviors on forums such as this and laugh at the obvious attempts and control by those egotists, don't you? Smile

The number of muscles in the human body varies from about 656 to 850, depending on which expert you consult. No exact figure is available because there are a variety of opinions about what constitutes a distinct muscle (versus a part of a complex muscle). There are also people that have muscles that most others do not, and just the opposite, there are some people that do not have some muscles that most other people do.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_muscles_does_a_human_have

There are many muscles of the hand. And there are about seventeen, or so, that act directly on the hand and fingers.
The muscles that act on the second through fourth fingers are: extensor digitorum, extensor indicus, extensor digiti minimi, flexor digitorum superficialis, and flexor digitorum profundus.
The ones that act on the thumb and index finger are: flexor pollicis longus, extensor pollicis longus, extensor pollicis brevis, and abductor pollicis longus.
The ones that only act on the fingers include: the thenar muscles, adductor pollicis, the hypothenar muscles, lumbricles, dorsal interosse, and palmar interossei.

IV. Muscles of the Forearm
The forearm, or antebrachium, contains many more muscles than the arm. There are at least twenty that you need to be aware of. These muscles are responsible for movement of the forearm, wrist, and digits

Hmmm. Abuse the plaintiff when you have no case. Amazing.

Perhaps, beside misspelling my name, you might also look up to that popular alcoholic, Bobby Burns: “Oh wad some power the giftie gie us To see oursel's as others see us! It wad frae monie a blunder free us, And foolish notion.”

Oh, and believe it or not, some people actually have studied a wide variety of things (following Heinlein's concept that "Specialization is for insects") and don't have to check google. Of course, when a person doesn't know much, doesn't have a broad background, and has to resort to searching google for everything, that becomes part of their belief system and they're going to assume that others do the same.

But of course, I'm sure you knew that.

;)

.... yeah
Sweet are the uses of adversity, which, like a toad, though ugly and venomous, wears yet a precious jewel in its head.

It's the way it printed in the book I studied and memorized ages ago. You have a problem with that? Take it up with the publisher.

Of course, as is typical of someone who has no argument, it's much easier for you to change the subject than actually deal with the issues. Nice try. Your hammer is just a chld's toy with a squeaker in it. And your squeaker is broken and impotent.

Wow... where'd you get that information?
Don't answer that, I've kicked the dust from my heels on this.
