Thank you Randwill for answering both my questions . Very useful and what I suspected . This would make an excellent carry anywhere item and I rarely where a jacket when I am not working. I guess I need lighter jackets rather than trying to reinvent the pull! or use the non reel versions.

Received mine today and it really is as nice as everyone says. Very quiet and looks very deceptive. This is the rolls Royce of ring flights. Brilliant.

Another burning question !!
Is it possible for the spectator to take the keys(and ring ) from your pocket while your hands remain in front ? That would be truly amazing! I understand that ring flights usually require the mage to "finish" by lifting the keyring from his pocket so the ring can complete its journey.

I think you could ask them to take them out of your pocket and then give them to you. Whereafter you hold it up with one key, to prevent the reel to stretch. As the way of holding the keys has an slight influence on the handling of the reel. One change in handling, if you are used to another reel could be that this ring flight automatically pulls. You cannot click the reel in a position that it does not pull.

For magicians this effect is more stunning because of the naked keyholder, and it is true, the last remaining part of the reel is very invisible. I wonder though if for a public it is not more impressive to find the ring back in a box or a keychain-wallet, as it seems harder to get it in.

Bought mine in Blackpool last week. I am very happy with it.

Hi All

This is a question for everyone who does RFR. I'm wondering how many of you do Dave Bonsalls follow up 'ring to sealed envelope in wallet'? This is the routine you can see on the RFR DVD. He sells another DVD that teaches the handling. Its a great follow up and gets fantastic reactions. What are your thoughts on this routine?

regards
Sean

I hadn't thought of that, but the cleverness of the reel's hiding place certainly has an appeal to me as a magician. The thing about the key chain wallet-style holders is -- who carries one of those anymore? A quick check shows me that they are still readily available, so maybe some people do.

I take it by the question; can it be used in "short sleeves", that the individual asking is very new to magic, or has never held a reel-based flying ring prop (and probably doesn't know that there are non-reel versions available) much less performed with one, and/or cannot think outside the box and instructions that the prop came with.

Most reel-based ring-fligh props (including this one) can be performed in Jeans and tee-shirt.That is to say NO sleeves. It takes the degree of difficult to a higher level. Frankly, it takes a bit of blocking to build a routine that covers the necessary angles. Any Student of Eugene Burger knows exactly what I mean (and knows exactly what needs to be done). One could easily perform Bruce Cervon's routine or Dick Barry's routine in short sleeve.

In the case of this prop and routine a jacket is desired but not required.

As to the look of the key being "European". ?!? I have been driving German made cars for decades and keys are as being gimmicked for this trick. VW has a flip key as does Audi, etc. Amongst my friends two drive Audi's and have just this type of key on their key rings. By the way, no one I know carries an American half dollar and no-one under the age of 20 has ever handled one. Just saying.

Harry, was right I was refering to being able to do this in Short Sleeves. Or even in a Uniform other than a suit. Being in San Antonio when I do perform it usually is outside in short sleeve type attire. I currently and have for many years used Ringer which is great but I was looking to add or expand. Below is usually what I perform in. I know many Ring Flights are Reel based and have stayed away because of numerous people voiceing their issues with them but since I kept reading that this is the Grail I figured let me ask a few questions. Angles would not be an issue or audience management but is that type of tailoring to the effect worth it or should I stick with what I already use and still works. I really just liked the Updated design of the key fob of RRF.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3FbFalkQBs&feature=plcp what about tapered sleeves? Is it strong enough for that or loose cuffs better?

Paisa23, I suggest you stick with what you have. Some tricks require a performer to make certain changes, as I see you do not desire to, or in your uniform - can't, then this would not be a good choice for you. Not all tricks can be done for any occasion or attire of dress, this is one of them.

If you like the key fob specialty key, then just buy a Mercedes and put it on your key ring. LOL

Or just a Revolution Ring Flight of the make of car you like. Way cheaper than buying the actual car.
