I have placed some heat shrink tubing on the carabiner clip,1-to help with noise
2-to help protect the borrowed rings.

One point I would like to ask about:
For those of you who have this is your thread threaded through two keyholes like mine is? The reason I ask is that it seems to hang up on occasion and I just wonder if that's my handling or is it normal to have the reel thread going out through two keyholes with the lobster clip outside? |

Rainboguy,
I asked Dave the same question when I got mine. It goes through two holes intentionally. It allows the "locking feature" too work more securely and better hides the binding at the end of the string. Wen you get used to pulling it out a at the proper angle it does not bind. Otherwise it works just as we'll with one hole I believe. |

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that I really didn't like it at all.
I used it in performance a few times in the lead up to Christmas and although nobody called me on it I felt very restricted with my movements. I'm quite an animated performer, even close-up, and there are points in the RFR routine that felt very un-natural. Previous to this I tried The Regal Ring Chain and Pro Flite. Both I prefer over RFR. I also tried the new ring to neck chain (I forget what its called), and this was nice but the reset wasn't that great. So interestingly enough I now use Gaetan Bloom's version and of all of those I've tried this is now my favourite. It gives far more scope for concentrating on your performance, has nothing that will break or go wrong, I picked mine up for £10 compared to RFR costing £112 and I think the magic is stronger with Gaetan's. In a nutshell, if you like gadgets RFR is cool. But for me there are better options for ring flight.

Ive been using it over a year now, and I think it's the best made by far. Outstanding quality here.
As far as the classic versions , let's be real, I bought my first one in the 70s and even then, no one I even met had their keys in one of those old key wallets. I actually made my own using the gimmick from a classic Ring flight putting it in a stuffed animal keychain. I used that to great effect for years, even thought about marketing it. Now I have this, and it's as good as it gets. I actually giggle when I see a performer using the old key pouch. It's 2013, hello |

I love my RFR, works great& gets fantastic reactions!
I had a piece break on mine(the piece that holds the keys on top of the unit) & Dave gave it a complete makeover at no charge,it was well past the warranty period. He also included a couple little gifts ![]() Great product & great CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have to agree that I have never once in my life seen one of those key wallets, or whatever that thing is. I can't figure out what the purpose of it would be, aside from hiding a ring.

Actually, there was a time when, if you visited a luggage or gift shop, the tri-fold key cases were prominent. I gave and received many of them over the years. Also, zippered key cases were available and pretty nice for producing a folded card. Perhaps I'm showing my age. But, times change and this certainly is the way to go. I just purchased one and it's very nice.

I love this reel. It is great and even comes with a two year warranty. However, he goes into enough detail on the dvd that you should never need him to repair it for you. I would recommend simply breaking down the reel along with the dvd when you get it. Also his customer service is great. I asked him a million questions and he answered them quickly every time.

So I bought this used on the Café back in 2012 and I have to say it's one of the best investments I've ever made. Dave was nice enough to transfer the warranty over to me when I had an issue with the reel breaking and had it fixed in no time. His customer service is honestly top notch and I can't recommend this more. I recently needed to have something tweaked with mine and Dave replied promptly and was ridiculously helpful. I could not recommend this anymore if I wanted to!

I just want to say how great the customer service is at propdog. I bought the RFR 2 and a half years ago. I got ahold of Dave and he was so nice he fixed it for free even though he didn't have to. I have never had customer service like his.

I made a complete mess of my RFR whilst trying to adjust it. Took it to Blackpool this year.
Dave fixed it for me although I had owned it for over two years. He said to give him twenty minutes and it would be as good as new. When I went back to his stand he said it doesn't work like it is new, its even better now. First class customer service and a nice bloke too. |
