If you gimmick an existing Volkswagen key, will it damage the "chip" in the key? Will the key still work in my Jetta?

What's the smallest size a fob or key can be to still accommodate the gimmick?

Hi Guys,

The Ring Flight Revolution isn't just a gimmick that you put inside a key. The internal workings of the key are removed, the key body is then milled out to millimetre precision to specific dimensions depending on the make of the key. Then reel is fitted inside, but it's not just a reel that you can take out and put back in again, these are individual reel components that are then permanently fitted to the key base (see the below photo).

If a key is converted, then it can never be used as a real key again.

Hope this helps clear things up.

I just ordered one of these because I love the plot, and loved my Departure, for the 3 months it lasted... And I didn't perform it that often. Ever since Mark Allen's Thread Manager, I have had profound respect for creators who do their own manufacturing. The level of quality is so much higher. I am only on my second TM2 in 10 years, and it seems like the same level of precision and care has gone into this ring flight gimmick. Just hoping international shipping doesn't take too long Smile

Question about travel with the RFR. Traveling, would you all recommend checking my RFR in or can I get past security with it on me as a carry-on?

Thanks,

Alex

Nice move. I went through at least four Departures before giving up and ordering Revolution. So far, it's everything Departure is without the small issue of it breaking.

Alex

I've made over a dozen flights with the RFR in hand luggage without any problem at all, though none have been in the US (all ex Heathrow to Europe or the Far East). People also worry about PK rings and I have never ever been questioned on that either. I've had an airport security girl almost jump out of her skin when she spotted a thumb tip on a secondary check, though.

PS, Dave's service is exceptional!

I have a question about presentation. Perhaps some of you may help me...

I've been using Gaeton Bloom's version for probably 20 years ever since all of the Various versions of ring flights I've used with built-in reels have failed........and I simply don't want to use props that are unreliable.

I need a totally reliable prop...and if RFR's reliability is absolutely there AND it's presentation capabilities are that much stronger than the (standard per instructions) presentation that I've been doing with the Gaeton Bloom version.......maybe I should try it?

A large part of the reason I'm asking for advice is that I'm going to be doing more magic with finger rings.

Any advice would be appreciated.....

Thank you.

Hang in there Rainboguy each day it gets a bit closer.lol
I am combining mine with Ring leader and Nest of wallets.
1st,Ring leader with spectators ring.
2nd, RFR.
3rd,Nest of wallets, man this is going to kill.

After going through two departures,I am now use to the carbiner style clip.
What style clip do you like and why?----------A question for everybody.
