What's the best magic act you've seen in Vegas?
My favorite was Penn & Teller. Second was Lance Burton. These guys are all class acts and put on a great show.

At some level it becomes a matter of taste.
Penn and Teller and tremendous and so is Mac. Best part is you can see both in one day! All 3, Penn and Teller, Mac and Lance are on a very high level of entertainment value for your money in my opinion.

As much as David Copperfield is in Vegas, would he be considered a regular? If so, he gets my vote.

Maybe I should of asked if there are any parlor type shows? I had seen one a long long loooong time ago on my honeymoon.

I am sure there must be some type of parlor or walk around shows in Vegas. The closest one I ever actually saw to this was at the Venetian in the shops.
When I saw Amazing Johnathan it was a smaller venue and not his regular theatre too. Some guy actually grabbed him. It was crazy for a half a second but AJ controlled it perfectly. But if you ever get to Oregon then you have to see Reed McClintock.

It was great. For the price of a drink you could be entertained by Daniel Cros, a Chinese meal to see Skinner, very expensive five course meal to see Grippo, and you could see Paul all night long if you went bowling.

Regarding Grippo - you could have gone to Darwin's Wednesday night magic meeting and seen Grippo there for free. Sit down at the table with Jimmy and he would keep you entertained all night long!

Grippo: The magic, the hair, that eye. One of the all time best close-up guys, he split those coins right under your nose. Cros: Continental class, love that seahorse. Skinner: Expert technique, neverending repertoire Paul: The ultimate host, a charming humorist, with a touch of magic.

Penn and Teller was the best show I've ever seen, in or out of Vegas.
Mac and Lance tie for 2nd. Love'em both, but Lance hasn't made a change to his show in years. Mac had one thing I hadn't seen before. I hear the Penn and Teller constantly rotate things in and out. |
