I had the opportunity to see the prototype (in action) of TI's latest offering, Eclipse, a few months ago. It's now on Christopher's web site, and worth a serious look: http://www.taylorimagineering.com/products/eclipse.php
Like TI's Equinox, Eclipse is a hands-off 'Kurotsoke-type' device, using coins instead of balls. Aside from the use of coins, the key distinction to most of the many available methods for performing this type of routine, is that it's completely hands-off - meaning there's no need to come near the spectators, to know what you need to know! Looking forward to playing with this one. |

This concept is a winner, sure.
If its a long lasting quality device I think this is a A+ prop for workers in the real world! This is an effect that makes sense - many mental effects are way to un-natural in the routining, this is straight to the point with no detours, sure. I hope to see this thing in action... This looks really good. I do have one concern. The Coin Purse--If you have spectators with large hands--removing the coins, would it screw things up if they remove more than one coin (say the target coin and one indifferent coin) and then replace one coin? Would you still be able to get a proper reading?
I ask this because I have seen some people with arthritus, or men with large hands fumble when I used to have them remove coins from a small coin purse. |

If they take the target coin and another out, but put the target coin back in, you'll know it when you get a 2nd reading by another spec.

Probably best if Christopher weighs in, as he is obviously best able to address the technical answer.
But I will say this; apart from audience management (perhaps avoiding 'Andre The Giant' size specs), I'm always on guard for the performance that goes a little sideways - either because of a spec's misunderstanding of what we believe to be simple directions, or on the rare occasion that someone wants to screw with you. With this, and most devices of this nature, this means continuing to pay attention, even after you have the required info. It also means keeping your guard up, for the 'unforeseen,' which Murphy so aptly predicted! As an example, during a recent performance of 'bill in hand,' I began with one spec, then moved onto 4 - one of which was to hide the bill in one of his hands. After 'doing my thing,' I realized that either my 'technique' wasn't functioning properly, or one of the four specs (my 'hunch' was the guy with the smirk across his face), had put the bill in his pocket. A little adjustment on my part, and I had the guilty party - and the guilty pocket identified. Turned a possible "ah-s**t," into an "Oh Wow" moment. I am definitely looking forward to one of these...perhaps Christopher can chime in soon to give more details, and also to see if this can also be custom made to regular coins, perhaps a £2 coin here in the UK...or 50p...??
Thanks |

Lunatik's question is a good one. If the target coin is removed and then put back, you will most certainly be able to follow that based on the signals you will be receiving.
Regarding the coins, the unit comes with a gaffed English penny and an ungaffed Chinese coin. Any of the readily available magnetic coins will work fine. I believe Alakazam will also be able to customize other coins. If you want an unusual coin done, you could send several of them over. All the best, Christopher |

Hi Guys,
I just finished designing the new demo video for Christopher Taylor's new effect "Eclipse" and uploaded it to you tube. I thought you might all like to see it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IROFMQbrvS8 By the way, this effect plays VERY well. I was also the one behind the camera filming on the night and the reactions it got were great! Great job again Christopher! MJ |

Thanks Matthew, you did a great job! The effect shown in the clip is a closeup Kurotsuke-style routine but there are others you can do too. For example, Deddy Corbuzier give me permission to combine his "FREE WILL" principle with Eclipse and the result is fantastic. Cheers.

Hey folks,
I have to tell ya'll that Christopher's Eclipse is going to blow your minds. I was also there that night as part of the film crew for his new mindblowing effect and I can tell you that the effect plays very strong. I watched him perform this many times that evening for a lay audience and believe me when I tell you that he has created a wonderful piece of close up mind theatre with the coolest props. Eclipse is perfect for walk around as well as stand up and it will definitely leave them scratching their heads with wonder. I know just how much work Chris has put into this one in the last year and what you end up with is absolutely Brilliant. Chris first performed Eclipse on me about 6 months ago and it blew me away! I love the way Christopher's thought process works and he is a true "Mind Master"!!! Well done once again my friend, Tony Chris
