I know what I do, do. I'm just asking for any additions that you guys know are good ones to know for the bar? I know the tricks that I will be doing there already, just asking for suggestions.

Go with what you know. If you try and add something you don't have down cold, you'll be setting yourself up for failure. You're first night could be your last as well.
Wow them with the stuff you know and get yourself invited back or hired. Then you can practice and work in new material.

I wouldn't be adding new trick at this late date. Do what you already know and are comfortable with. You may not have enough time to get relaxed with new effects especially if you add more than one. You will have enough on your plate for your first night.

90% of magicians know TOO MANY tricks. Seriously. Having 12 down cold ready to go will be far more than enough. My guess is you have at least double that number.

I have a bit more than 12 but 6 or so are card tricks that need a stack so I veiw that as one trick because until I get some time alone to set up the next illusion I cant repeat or do others that involve a stack but... I totally agree I drive myself crazy trying to add MORE and MOre but your right its not good. what I am prepared to do on tuesday is going to be about 4-5 card tricks, spongeballs, a couple coin tricks including a jumbo coin ending in one which people seem to like, ring leader, possible rubberband and ring trick, a bill transpo, a little envelope prediction trick which is pretty much self working and possibly "tagged" Sanders. what do ya think?

Just remember that the tricks themselves are not as important as how well you do them and how well you interact and entertain with them. Put the bulk of your effort into making the tricks you already know stronger (eliminate weak points), tighter (get rid of extraneous dialogue and movement), and more compelling (interesting to the audience, drawing them in), and you will be a hit.
At one point in time, I could do over 150 card tricks at the drop of a hat. But the bulk of my professional work is comprised of about 8. And those 8 kill, every time. With a deck of cards & a Sharpie along with 3-4 coin tricks, my sponge routine, a rope routine, my variation on Maven's Positive Negative (with biz card) and my finger ring & string routine, I have a strong repertoire that can play in virtually any close up venue, whether there are tables or not, whether people are sitting or standing, whether it's loud or not, for as long as I need to go. And because it is a limited number of routines that I've done so many times, I know where people will laugh, where they will look at what point in the routine, etc. In short, the act has been "honed". Tough to have a polished, honed act with hundreds of effects.

I carry 2 decks in my jacket at every performance (Regular and Invisible). There is no need to do stacked tricks and then other card tricks that do not rely on the stack all at the same table. Do some effects, put the deck away and move onto something non-card related. Now you are reset for the next table. If you end up at a table for an extended period of time and you need both decks, do some card tricks, put that deck away, time delay with something else, remove other deck and you are "off to the races". Another piece of advice for your "demo" night, don't be shy at the tables you are performing for. Make them make noise for things to happen. Like, in an ACR routine, get the table clapping and cheering "so their card can find its way to the top"... If the managers "hear" that patrons are having a good time and they see you with that noise, it is only going to help your case. Also, do not be afraid to ask the patrons to tell management or hostess that they had a really great time with you. Especially if someone offers you a tip. Ask them to tell the manager specifically instead. Just some additional things to help land the gig. Cheers, Justin
