Hi Everybody,
Saturday, a fellow who posts here on rare occasion came to the monthly Ring 96 meeting I attend. He brought with him a Pastor Clyde Straitjacket. I have always wanted to see one of these and I have considered buying one for a while. For those of you have not seen one up close and personal, I will tell you I liked what I saw. The construction was professional and strong. The straps and buckles were well placed and well designed. Yes, this is a shameless free plug, but it is only my opinion. Since the other fellow is smaller than I am, I could not try the jacket out.

I just got one(my first) and I will add my plug, it sure seems solid and well made, and good price etc also!

I have one of his original jackets. It is just canvas and straps. I am incredibly happy with it. Well made, very strong.
I am likely going to be getting one of his deluxe jackets in the near future.

Thanks for the plugs. We work hard to ensure top quality jackets. You may pay more somewhere else but you won't find better quality. Again, thanks!

WOW - that was fast shipping. When my son saw it I swear he was more excited than he was on christmas morning. It's a little big on him now but looks like it'll work great.

How stiff is the canvas?
A new Humane Restraint jacket is almost as stiff as cardboard, something that makes it rather impressive.

Steve,
Our jackets vary in thickness. Natural canvas is 12 oz and other colors are 10 oz. Humane makes theirs out of 18 oz. We use that weight canvas for our version 1 and version 2 mailbags but not the jackets. The decision to use lighter but strong canvas was 1) price and 2) stiffness. I found that my Humane jacket was great but if I started to sweat, it would rub the skin off my arms. The 12 oz natural if quite heavy and holds its shape well. Unfortunately we can't find colored canvas in that weight for a reasonable price so for those we use the readily available 10 oz. We do have the 18 oz canvas however and can custom make a jacket for those wanting something that heavy. Thanks for asking, Clyde |
