I agree with Scott. They are much higher quality and easier to work with. I have uses them for years. You get what you pay for!

It's a combination of factors:

1. They are MUCH higher quality; more compressible, brighter, deeper colors, longer life
2. Manufactured in Japan (dollar exchange rate is weak right now)
3. Shipping from Japan

I have a couple that I've had for about 15 years and they still look almost brand new--of course, I rarely use them. They are expensive, but they're REALLY nice!

I'm sorry. You will need to actually add a response to a quote if you expect to join in the fun. Something like "ditto" or "right on" would usually do the trick.

I should clarify--the Tenyo sponges I have did not cost me that much--as I said, I wouldn't pay that much for sponges. Further, I have not seen the automatic ones. Mine are manual, as best as I can tell...

But then, I've never been very knowledgeable about transmissions.

As far as staying nice if you don't use them:

I have some Goshman sponges that old that haven't been used much either. They have "dried out" and are not "like new" like the Tenyos. I know that with care, they will last that long. I'm saying that, with the same amount of negligence, the Tenyos hold up better for a longer period of time.

Bill,

I think he did respond. He just buried it in Scott's quote.

I love that we are all so very nerdy! Haha! It would be terrible if the spongeballs didn´t have that "new spongeball look" after some time!

By the way, when I wanted to buy regular goshman sponges (not supersoft) in a magicstore the owner laught at me! He would have to order them specially for me from the states...

Pardon my spelling.

TCC just put out new spongeballs. If you don't need them supersoft, they are a great alternative to Goshman and are less expensive. I've used them and they feel and work just like they should.

There are also these...
