I wouldnt have been dissapointed if either one of these guys won. I do think they were probably the best 2 they had right now unlike the ending of the 1st American Idol.
Rueben seemed to stick with his voice potential and sing what made him sound good and he did sound good. Clay seemed to stick his neck out on the block a few times with the choices he made and then watch Simon cut his head off. Rueben was more consistant i think but Clay was more versatile. Well regardless, both should do very well with their careers. I just hope they don't have a movie together like Kelly and Justin did, Well these are just my thoughts for whatever its worth. Chris |

They actually had to do a recount of the votes from the audience members of American Idol to see who won.
Reminds me of the U.S.A.'s Presidential Elections of 2000. The U.S. couldn't get that right, but yet we somehow managed to get a perfect count for who won American Idol.
If anyone sees my sanity, please return it to

And it scares me that the AI finale drew a 33% share of the US -- more than presidential debates.
If you're looking for a good laugh at American Idol's expense, spend some time at http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/ The AI recaps are a scream. My personal oppinion is that anyone of the 3 finalists could have won this, but Rubin beat Clay because record companies (and most entertainment co's) consider it extra work to promote a singer perceived as gay. Not that I'm saying Clay is gay, just that he might "read gay" to an exec. And Ms. Novak -- I loved you in "Down With Love." S. |

Now i never picked up on that about Clay. What prompted you to think the way you did Sean? Not saying you are wrong in your thinking but i never once thought that.

I rather be here on the Café than watch the relity TV shows...Well all except survivor. I kind of like that one a bit, but it is becoming boring, some thing different island, different people.

Survivor was always boring. Here you have it where they can bring one luxury item. Are you telling me that if you got stuck in the jungle that you'd rather have a hairbrush than a Bowie knife??? I can survive through messed up hair, but not an attack by a lion.

Thought: Why does man kill? He kills for food. And not only food: frequently there must be a beverage.

I know, but how can you call it survival if you're protected in the jungle? Real survival is sitting out in the middle of nowhere with the clothes you have and any tools you feel necesarry. I have been on many survival trips and I have needed a hairbrush. I come home and my parents look like this (so does my hair).

In my opinion a CD by Clay Aiken will outsell one by Ruben. I like Ruben ok, but Caly's range and quality of vocals is much better.

"Now i never picked up on that about Clay. What prompted you to think the way you did Sean?" I dunno -- Clay doesn't strike me as a ladies-man I guess. Maybe because there was no mention of a romantic life in his personal coverage. And his interviews with the press were very vague--made me wonder if there was something to "hide." Plus there's the Jerry Seinfeld (from a routine of his) syndrome--Thin, Neat and Single = people think you're gay. I could be wrong and it's really none of my business. My experience though is that many producers are hesitant to back an artist that might be thought of as gay. Cabrera: "In my opinion a CD by Clay Aiken will outsell one by Ruben." I think you're right--Clay's cd single set records on preorder on Amazon -- as did Ruben's, but Clay's topped Ru's. I really spent too much time watching this show. S. |
