I have other ellusionnist products because when I first got interested in magic I was stupid enough to fall for the 'street magic...BE LIKE BLAINE!' type slogans. Just my opinion. The rest of you can carry on learning your off magic solely from videos from that site. I will stick to books and ORIGINAL material.

It's called the real world you do what you have to do to make money. Look at dell they claim to have good computers and stuff when in reality you can build one for 5x cheaper. Same for ellusionist they have a good marketing campaign followed by magic for beginners. Brad breaks down the moves something that books cant really do as well as video. As for it not being original well not much is original anymore in magic people always thought of something before someone else. I say leave ellusionist alone they are trying to change and are a great company.

I'm not an Ellusionist fan either, but let's not bash on this board please. It goes nowhere.
My question is - Since everyone is saying how Ellusionist is trying to change, have they started crediting on their videos yet? That would be a good step toward changing. A big problem is that they don't ask for permission to include the stuff they include in their videos, but at least crediting would be a small sign of change.

All the moves that I know of on the video don't really have a creater I don't think. They credited marlo with the tilt but what about the pop up move and knee vanish I really don't know who did them.

I personally like his videos..I have most of his products and I'm really happy with them..yes, Ninja 1 and 2 are a bit overpriced..but still, I like the way he teaches, the way he breaks things down even the smallest details that you can't get from books, the way he does the perfomance (ie: on the street, to live spectators, etc)..also he goes not too slow, not too fast both in his performance and teaching...
I will absolutely buy CC2... |

The crediting on CC2 is flawless .. actually, its almost overboard. I think that they have learned their lesson on that.
I too am tired of seeing the bashing and agree it's pointless. If you want to give an honest review of a product and it happens to be negative and you have good reasons for that view then fine. But just groundless bashing is immature and not really conducive to a friendly atmosphere. |

Ellusionist gives proper credit on all of their videos. I don't see how this is ripping off material?

For what apears to be a truly unbiased review of CC2, go to:
http://www.magictalk.com/cgi-bin/reviews.cgi It contains seperate reviews given by two individiuals. Ron |

Unbiased?
David Mitchell (kronos) is an employee of Ellusionist and Brian Mathers (bmathers) is a moderator on the forums there. In my opinion these guys should either state that in the reviews or keep thier reviews in the Ellusionist forums. I have never had a problem with Ellusionist but this practice seems rather shady to me. Ernie |

It's geared toward Blaine fanatics who mistake strolling magic for street magic. The videos teach the same techniques and moves, so you could apply either to any venue you work.

Look. Lets put it this way. I don't support garbage. Even if it's my boss selling it. If I had a problem with something, then I wouldn't be associated with it.
I don't want to get into a bashing session, I'm tired of that, and quite frankly, it's exhausting, I don't see how you guys have the energy to keep it up. I liked it better than Daryl's, not because I work for ellusionist, but because I feel Daryls rapid fire approach to teaching magic doesn't work. It's over kill. I just don't like it. My preference. Don't get mad at me for having one. There said and done. Now that I have gotten that off my chest, I think it's all time for you guys to move on to something else to gripe at. David. |

David, I was just clarifying something. I don't think buying something just because it's marketed in a certain way is wise. Your opinion, however, is well-expressed and understandable. I appreciate it.
P.S. - yes, I would really like to see this topic drop into oblivion. All that can be said has been said. Time to move on.
