Please share your thoughts on the Society of American Magicians opening the Magic Center in Louisville, Kentucky

If you didn't already know, the Society of American Magicians are currently developing a magic center in Louisville, Kentucky. I recently attended a video conference call where we all could view photographs of the site. The scope of the project is impressive and very do-able! The buildings are beautiful and they already exist. This is not a pie in the sky dream but a reality very close to happening.

In the photo presentation I saw that the buildings are currently being used by a church who is selling off the property. The "church" is not your grandmother's church. it's a full-on multimedia convention style facility, complete with theatrical light rigging. I was very impressed with the look of this place. The main theater can hold over 600 people. There are other buildings on the property that are already set up to function as libraries, meeting rooms, a magician's only magic museum, and a magic exhibit for the public.

It's 8 minutes from the airport just on the outskirts of Louisville. I wish this project the best. It would be great for the S.A.M. to find a permanent home to house their amazing archives and library. It would also be a great place for magicians to gather for conventions and workshops.

Tobias, Eugene and I are meeting this month to discuss how we will invest in this project. We all think it's a very good idea. We will encourage many of our pro friends and students to support this vision.
